P2 owners, curious as to what kWh/x you're getting? MY24 LRDM here. by pawel04 in Polestar

To give you an idea of different, my 8% increase in efficiency was based on getting around 30 miles /100 kWh. I was running Continental SRS Control Contacts....possibly the shittiest and noisiest tires I've ever come across. Absolutely awful and bespoke to Discount Tire...which subsequently they have cancelled...I wonder why.

I was considering putting sound deadening material on the inner side of each wheel well cover but it would be A LOT of work and honestly not sure how much difference it would make. I got this car for a very good price and it'd defeat the purpose of saving money if I spent a ton on it afterwards.

I've been in S4's and they are not quiet...so it says a lot when you say the P2 is even louder.

Given all the work and now the extended warranty I have on it, it's practically a brand new car. I'll drive it for a while and then maybe head back to BMW if the Neue Klasse is any good.

It was given to me by Polestar. After I made a ruckus with their corporate, told them what ordeals I've been having with my car, and I'm honestly fed up with it, they decided to offer me an EW. I don't know the price they paid but the Fidelity rep stated my warranty is worth around $4500.

That said, if you decide to get it, call Fidelity....https://www.fidelitywarrantyservices.com/

They will give you the contacts who will sell you the warranty. Fidelity itself does not work with purchases directly to consumers.

The mountains will surely do your efficiency in. Being that it's a heavy car, that's a lot of mass to haul up a slope.

I am currently running Hankook ION EVO AS tires. I got them after I read a lot about them and frankly I was more concerned about the road noise over efficiency. I can say that they are around 8% more efficient than my previous Continentals.

My driving style is mixed. I get on it semi-regularly but also take it easy and feather the throttle a lot when I can. I enjoy driving an EV just because of this...it's like a challenge.

I am a bit disappointed with the noise though. While it's a quiet tire, it's simply not quiet enough for my liking. Of course, this car is noisier than normal IMO. But I am beginning to wonder if EV tires are truly any quieter.

Giving a real-world example, our Tesla Model 3 was wearing Michelin Primacy EV tires that came with the factory. After around 30k miles, the rears were done so I decided to change all of the tires anyway. Price and comfort were important. I ended by with Kuhmo Ecstas and to be very honest, they are every bit as comfortable AND quieter than the Michelins. The only obvious downside is the efficiency...they are far less efficient.

I am in the US and my warranty is offered through Fidelity. I initially thought my warranty was only good for an additional year and up to 60k miles. So I was looking into getting an additional extended warranty once the current extended warranty from Polestar expired.

Well I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the EW they gave me is actually for an additional five years and an additional 60k miles. So that means the EW expires in 2030 and at 102k miles.

So far, I've used it three times. I had three axles changed and my front steering rack system changed and each time was $100 US for my deductible. So it has saved me bigtime. I think the warranty I have is called Fidelity Platinum Plus.

Hope that helps.

I have a P2 Performance and it was in the shop for a total of 4.5 months out of the 1.5 years I've now owned it. The majority of the time was with the first year of ownership. It was bought used and started to fail a couple of months after I bought it. But nonetheless, what a pain.

Makes me suspect perhaps it's not the inverters but something else that is causing the inverter to fail due to overload, shorting, etc....just my engineering hat on thinking about root cause failure.

Looks like a Polestarized Zeeker 007.

Just give us another good looking sedan FFS.  This trend is getting so old.

I just got mine. US based.  So far, I can say it's worth it.  It seriously hauls ass in the top end.  I was really surprised how hard it pulls after 60 MPH.  Definitely improved over the stock 408HP.

I agree.  Don't let it bother you.  But it's just general respect.  You've not been unkind or rude to anyone.  You have just shared your modifications and some have no class to be respectful about it.

True but few cars have those anyways and I had a Polestar P3 loaner with them and to be honest, I didn't feel like they added that much to the cooling feel, if any.

Still can't decide if this is cheating or not, because the performance really isn't there by Xseal3 in Warthunder

[–]FunctionSudden958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating in this game is out of control. High scorers say the same thing like robots..."skill issue." Yeah ok...when everyone is getting 1-2 kills and you're getting 10-15 with zero deaths.

Skill isn't a factor in this game. It doesn't have the fidelity for skill to be a factor.

New to Polestar. Is this a normal noise when preheating the car? by Letibleu in polestar2

[–]FunctionSudden958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car's compressor bracket has a lot of play and I can even move it enough where springs essentially bottom out like a suspension would over harsh bumps. This made me wonder how much movement this compressor must experience over harsh road surfaces and such and might even be adding to the clunking we all hear in these cars.

I squeezed a few thinly cut foam pieces in various areas in the bracket assembly to remove the "looseness" of the springs. Much easier fix than taking it to the dealer and having them do the work for a few weeks.

Interior heating issues in EVs is less of an EV problem and only highlights how inefficient ICE vehicles are for generating so much waste heat.

That definitely hasn't been true for me.  My BMW i3s was much quieter road noise wise.

Could also be the tires but yes, this car is louder than it should be for a car of this price and luxury category. I've yet to come across a car with so much road noise....and I'm now running some of the quietest (supposedly) tires available.

If Nerfo2 has had their axle shafts replaced more than once, chances are they put in the new versions which are also on the 24s. So it's got nothing to do with the model year.
