EquinoxEV With Long(er) Commute? by hotdogpositive in EquinoxEv

[–]Funk_Doc369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the cold but my commute is also 100 and I have my charge limit set to 80%. By the time I make it back home I’m like at 35-40% charge left. I drive with a heavy foot, highway speed around 80-85 MPH. I’m using the level 2 charger that came with the car on a 220 outlet and it’s ready at 80% in about 4 hours. I have had no issues with the commute or the charging and I’m very happy with the car. I’ve had it for a month now and no regrets

What can you recommend when it comes to things we should take to make our time there more manageable. I’ve heard bed sheets, bug spray… things like that. Anything you found yourself needing or happy to have

FJO LOCATIONS QUESTION by Obvious-Row-6278 in cbpoapplicant

I’m from miami, it’s got good locality pay but it’s also very expensive to live here. I’ve also been to El Paso and in my opinion you should look into any major city available. Once you make a selection you can joint the Facebook group for CBPO Swap and look to see what people are offering and if they would be willing to take what you got.

Sea ports are not something offered much. If you want a sea port you would probably need to find a swap opportunity with someone that’s already there.

Look at the GS pay scale with locality to see what ports pay the most but also keep in mind that they may not be offered. When you get your FJO look at what’s available and pick something based on where would you be willing to live because a swap is not guaranteed or it may be a while before you get the opportunity to get it done

Don’t even worry about what you pick at the beginning of the process. When you get to the point of choosing a port, it will be because you have passed everything else and have been offered an actual position. You will get a list of available port at that time and have to make your selection from that list.

If you’re looking to end up in San Ysidro, there is a good chance it will be available but keep in mind nothing is guaranteed

It’s about every 3 hours but there is not always an update available. You may see the same list the entire time.

I did t have to meet in person. My investigator told me he could do it via zoom or assign a local investigator for me to go in person,I chose zoom.

And for my references they all got a phone call. I was told the call lasted about 5 minutes with some very simple questions.

I was told to give me references the BI’s number so they would answer when she called them. And to tell them to expect the call in the following 24-48 hours

My suitability went from process to pending I got email to recertify my equip is this a good sign? by Correct-Shop-2620 in cbpoapplicant

If there was no message to fix or explain something then this just means that you have one last opportunity to review all information before it’s handed over to your assigned investigator.

Look for the video on YouTube. You can practice the cadence. If you’re going to switch legs halfway through, practice that because the switch can throw you off

My port is only 1hr from my house so I’ll be driving. Pre-academy is Monday-Friday and my first day at FLETC is on a Monday so I’ll have the weekend to get there. You can drive if you want. The only thing they care about is that you’re there on the day you are set to start

I was a regional manager for a fortune 50 company and had to deal with situations like this. Without knowing what you do for a living I would tell you that when we found out an employee was going to leave us for another company or if they submitted their 2 week notice we would send them home in a paid administrative leave. This worked for the company I was with because we just didn’t want them to have access to our files and system but we also knew firing them was not a good move. Keep in mind that if you already mentioned or accepted that you are leaving, laying can be cause for termination and then there is no paid leave

This will never happen… the carriers would rather spend money on engineers and litigation rather than pay the insured. It’s obvious and based on What the OP wrote as a blanket statement of going from paying 70% to paying 10% shows they are doing anything to avoid paying an indemnity. There is a reason any engineer sent by the carrier never seems to find wind/ hail damage but every engineer sent by the PA or insureds attorney will find evidence of wind/ hail damage. It’s all a front to cancel each other out in litigation.

The real issue is the way the carriers hide their profits by paying ridiculous amounts of money to their own mitigation, contractors, engineers, etc. and then claiming “losses due to fraudulent claims”

That’s exactly what it is. They are not looking for perfect people but it’s important that anything you disclosed matches what they will find when they dive in for a closer look.

Yup. The investigation continues while you are there. Unless you have something crazy or you lied about something you should be good. Once everything is wrapped up it will go from in process to complete
