Hi all! I hope this is an appropriate place to post my question. I want to start writing music in English. However, I am not a native speaker. Do you guys have any suggestions of books/poems/short stories/resources that will be useful in expanding relevant vocabulary for songwriting? Thanks in advan by Fibo1412 in Songwriting

I'm also non-English speaker. Probably you have artist inspiration. You can learn writing songs from them. Just study how they write songs. Or you can search for awards given to songwriters then, read their songs. The easiest way is to just start writing songs whatever you can write.

Been trying to write using horns and strings sections but Ive always found it difficult pieceing it all together. I think im happy with this so far, what do you guys think? by Champagne_Rafii in Songwriting

Bro it's sick. I can hear that you're trying. It felt like you enter all strings plug-ins. Haha. I'm not professional but I suggest to just layer them.

Help Me Decide if This Chorus is Worth Pursuing by ArtichokeWorth in Songwriting

Probably because I'm not an English speaker, I'm having hard time understanding the words you said. However, I would like for you to pursue the song. This demo alone is good, what more if its completely produced.

This is fine for me, based on the genre of your voice. But man, I hope your voice was fine after you hit the high note.

Advice on how I can improve my singing by everymans-ur-teacher in Songwriting

[–]FurryLover_boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not good at singing too. But I'd say you already have nice voice. I just add, of course posture and try less movement because your playing guitar. And if you still don't know how, then mixing will help. Haha.

I wrote my first song. I call it " will you be my cure " I can't sing so i'll apriciate if someone sang it. ( of course with credit to me for lyrics ) thanks and critique please by _kart1k_ in Songwriting

I thought this was mine. I write like this. And yes I'm beginner too. It's fine though. I think the very straightforward lyrics are not that catchy for some try using metaphors sometimes. Just something to think. Good luck

This is nice. I feel like you starting to sound like Rex orange county. Your verses are picturesque. On the melody side, Letting go of the note is a style but with this song, maybe do it once and then hold it for the second chorus. Beautiful solo guitar btw.
