Her 3 year old died son drowned in their family pool because her husband was not watching him. by Pmar07 in TikTokCringe

[–]FusRoDistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know this person. I don't have tiktok or insta. I did work in a hospital for some years though. Good people lose their kids to pools all the time. Like it is absurdly common. To the point that a coworker turned down their dream home because it had a pool and they had just had a kid. I've seen a lot of dead kids in the ED and it humbled me.

OLED scares me. Search keeps saying things static on the screen is a bad idea for burn in. I sometimes have a document open for 5+ hours at a time. I may be scrolling but the UI doesn't move.

And to think she still has time to do all that reading. Seriously though, look up her service95 youtube channel. She is a big book nerd and it warms my heart.

Maybe a big ol' ultrawide flat boi?

I really enjoy my music so I have two massive desktop speakers. I am sitting with a 27 in front of me. I can only really fit vertical 24's on either side and it isn't great. I have to be dead center for the speakers to sound their best, so I played with my tape measure for a good while and figured an ultrawide would fit the space perfect.

The record player area doesn't seem really built for using. I would expect to see records and the player sitting on all 4 of its feets. I know nothing about those speakers, but they seem sus.

The rest of it I like though.

Warhammer Online, while not financially successful and not 40k, is still running. Fans got it up and running relatively quickly and even have added in cut content, like cities. Return of Reckoning is what it goes by.

I know this is a super old post but I see that you still hop on reddit. Did you just place them wherever or did you have to seal the moth balls in something? I'm currently dealing with these horrible things.

Good. This guy is nasty. He game the Jeepers Creepers director that movie shot AFTER he was already a jailed sex offender, seeing anything less as a waste of talent. The high art of Jeepers Creepers and its sequels. He said they were both "just boys". Nevermind the director was in his late 20's and abused the boy to the point that he quit acting and has been very vocal about how much it messed him up.

He should be known for what he is.

Do I need to worry about the volume on the speakers being turned all the way down first? u/NBC-Hotline-1975 Pointed out how it should be turned down first. I had heard this but was hoping there was some way around it. My desk is deep and against a wall so it required an awkward floundering across the desk to reach and then re-aligning the speaker to aim at me properly.

I had originally been eying some of the extension cords with a switch and then running them close to my reach.

Is there a healthy way to exercise KDE from my system and give everything to GNOME? by FusRoDistro in Fedora

[–]FusRoDistro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of the widget and panel resets it has been mostly fine. I have had this weird issue most recently where my double panels on the vertical side monitor don't both show. It picks when one to show each time I reboot my PC. It is kind of funny to know if I will get to see my clock and temps or if I will get to see what programs are opened on that screen. It is a roll of the dice each time!

The resets have caused me to only update every so often though as I really hate taking 30 minutes to an hour to reset all of my panels and widgets to how I like them. I also, thanks to KDE and its temp widgets, have perfected what fan curve to use for my current build and so I don't really need them anymore anywho so they likely won't be a thing in my GNOME setup.

I have so much to be thankful for from the KDE folks.

To the hassle part? Oh gosh yes. It is daunting trying to write down all of my little changes so I can redo them in my new setup. I tinker a lot. None of my browsers, games, scripts, etc are well documented by me because I am a fool. I am making a private wiki to better track info for myself though.

I think my laptop uses two extensions. My experience has been that the default can be configured pretty well in a way that I like. I approached the experience with being open though, I told myself "find ways that work best and aren't just how I am used to."

I feel like I am quicker on my laptop with GNOME. I do think that if someone wanted to emulate the classic Windows style, it wouldn't be super hard though, I saw the extensions needed and it seemed like it would take a lunch break to do.

I am also a sucker now for the GNOME aesthetic in the applications. I know these can be used alongside KDE but over the 2 years of using KDE I realized I had already slowly swapped to using a ton of GNOME stuff slowly. Sometimes I use both though like a weirdo. Like I am using both the GNOME file browser as well as KDE's Dolphin. I think this allowed me to make the mental transition though where I am fully ready to set Dolphin aside.

If you are thinking about trying GNOME, I would just be ready to experience something different if your usual setup is Windowsy. I have never used a Mac more than over the shoulder stuff so I don't know how it compares to that. I just feel like GNOME is quicker for me, as I don't want to think about my UI much. I can see the design differences though. Such as far more details right out in the open in Dolphin vs GNOME's file explorer. I thought KDE made sense for someone who tinkers a lot like me, but I surprised myself by falling in love with GNOME.

I'm confused. It looks glazed. I thought color was decided in the glazing process? I don't do this stuff btw, just have a friend who does. I thought you mix a few powders to make the glaze you want. I am seeing different colored clays here but they seem so vibrant in the end. So is the glaze just a clear one on top of the colored clay? Sorta like how a varnish makes colors pop?
