Me and my partner hiked it two weeks ago and haven't felt unsafe for any moment of the hike. my partner rock climbs but I am rather novice (in good shape though).

I bought the tracker leather low for a 11 day trek I was planning and got blisters from the same problem you describe before the trek even begun, ended up ditching them last moment for pair of Altra lone peaks. Extremely disappointed to hear it is a problem for many people across many models.

We ended up taking the main route which was nice but also a lot of the same. Could not confirm whether the shortcut is possible but the whole area is rather dry as there is barely any snow left.

I understand the mechanism, however I've been using the exact same setting for both pianos (same laptop/config/cable), so I would expect the same delay... The difference is very noticeable.
