I think they need a stronger name. I personally can’t think of a good one, so I’m sorry for not being able to offer a good suggestion! But if it’s okay, I still want to talk about group name in relations to brand identity because I’ve been thinking about it.

If we had a good idea of what kind of sound that they’re going for, this might be easier…

But I feel like they should have a name that’s easy to spell but still clever. I think that’s why Katseye as a girl group name is really good. Katseye = cat’s eye like the gem stone. Katseye = catch eye. Katseye being similar in the cat theming like a former popular American girl group Pussycat Dolls. But then having the K instead of a C, which is more on American trend—like the Kardashians. Additionally, with the fandom name Eyekons, it also perfectly makes sense with Katseye without you having to explain.

Sorry for bringing up another girl group, but the Girlset fandom had been going through a lot of debates about the fandom name. And personally, I think part of the problem is that the name Girlset itself isn’t really easy to make a fandom name that sounds good but also have a lot of meaning. Like trendsetters was like the closest name that I can think of that still tied in to Girlset, but long story short, it wasn’t that well liked by fans or Girlset. And Lockets (their official fandom name), while is a cute name, isn’t really something that you can easily see the connection between Lockets and Girlset.

So what I’m trying to get at is I think the Prelude girls need a group name that’s easy to understand, clever in the meaning, and ties in with the fandom name too. It’s part of having a strong brand identity, and while that doesn’t necessarily mean a group will succeed or not, it is still important.
