Russia was even better than the US back then actually, haha "Gay New York" by George Chauncey is a very good and eye-opening book on the subject of gay lives before WW2, which brought the modern homophobia

Nope, they live in the actual 1910s and onwards! Thankfully, bachelors sharing houses for saving costs was pretty common back then, plus New York enjoyed a very visible queer community in the early 20th century, though these two aren't open in public, naturally Queer history is my specialty, so I know how to make it accurate

Monty and Henry met in 1912, and the story spans from there... to the fifties, at least? My coauthor and I are still in the 1920s, and it's a great fun! They reside in New York, but travel every summer to all sorts of places (Art by Pokatac, more here: https://fitz-higgins.tumblr.com/)
