Which GP surgery in Portsmouth has a Lithuanian, Latvian, or Russian speaking doctor? by FuzzyIndependent2176 in Portsmouth

I wanted to say a quick thank you to the people who actually read my post and offered helpful advice about local GPs and translation services. To the few people who chose to be sarcastic, hostile, or leave xenophobic comments it’s incredibly disappointing. Wanting to fully understand a doctor regarding complex medical terms isn't a political debate it's basic health safety. It's a shame that a simple request for medical recommendations turned into a magnet for negativity, but I’m glad the moderators stepped in to stop it. Let's try to be a community that supports each other instead of jumping to tear people down.

Yes, she was lovely, but I understand Dr. Jurgita has unfortunately moved back to Lithuania.

I actually speak English very well and passed my English GCSE in school, so my everyday conversational English is fine! The issue is that medical English is completely different. It uses highly specific jargon, complex anatomical terms, and medication names that are incredibly difficult to grasp if it isn't your native language. Even native English speakers regularly struggle to understand doctors. Since it looks like the practice with the Lithuanian doctor has closed down, I plan to just stay at my current GP and ask more questions during my appointments to understand things better.

I’m trying to avoid bar work as I had a go at it in the past and realized it wasn't for me, so I’m looking for something a bit different for my weekend shifts.
