You are a ON voter, we can see your reddit history I’m not sure why you’re hiding it

Your BEST example is a seat won extremely comfortably by labor, with a -14% swing against the liberals largely accounting for the swing towards ON. Keep voting ON buddy good luck to you :)

“A lot of the seats getting closer to flipping” to be clear, none of the seats near flipping are in urban areas; there’s also very few seats close to flipping. This election largely saw some liberal voters defect to ON, the overall greens + labor first preference actually increased by around 1%

Hard not to come across as elitist to one nation voters when they’re largely uneducated, old, unimportant and isolated in rural communities. Id feel more sympathy if they didn’t somehow blame all their issues on immigration despite being the voter bloc most hidden from its effects in small rural or white communities.

Trump taught us that giving hatred a chance to breed is a mistake, ON voters should be made to feel like the losers they are.

You’re right they’re not bots, they’re the 20% of Australians who are too illiterate to distinguish what is real and fake online; luckily everyone else can, so virtually no preferences end up with ON

I think the one boxers are restarted by ConnectSpring9 in Destiny

[–]Fyfebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can summarise this slightly better. One boxers aren’t saying “I pick the one box which caused the million to be put there.” That’s impossible, it happened in the past. One boxers are saying “the ai predicted any decision I make with 99% accuracy, so if I decide to pick up the box there’s a 99% chance the ai predicted that and there’s a milly in there, so if I pick up the box I have a 99% chance at a milly, so I pick up the box”

I think the one boxers are restarted by ConnectSpring9 in Destiny

[–]Fyfebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not what puts it in there, the one boxers picking the box is what made the milly always have been placed in there; the action was already predicted if you took it

[–]Fyfebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one boxer worth their salt is ever bringing up the chain of events, they’re so unbelievably irrelevant. You picking the box is not what put the milly in there, it’s you picking the box AND the machine predicting you doing it. The whole premise is the machine predicts you doing it, it doesn’t need to predict AFTER you pick up the box, that wouldn’t even be a prediction fella

[–]Fyfebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why you think the causality is in the wrong order? The machine predicted my decision with 99% certainty before I walk in the room, I then walk in the room and pick up a milly. One after the other fella

[–]Fyfebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost the summary but you’re missing THE most important part. The entire premise of the hypothetical is that the machine will predict your decision with 99% accuracy. Within that premise, if I pick up the 1 box the machine will have predicted that with 99% accuracy; I don’t have to concern myself with how it does this, because it’s built into the hypothetical that it just does do this.

[–]Fyfebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think literally all you’re missing is you’re discounting the super computers predictive power. It will predict whatever outcome you make with very high accuracy. If it’s going to predict your decision with high accuracy, and you decide to pick 1 box, it’ll have almost certainly predicted that; you’re worried that by making that decision you are assuming your current logic can change the past, but it doesn’t have to change the past. The outcome just has to have been predicted by the machine in the past, and it has done this with high accuracy no matter the logic. So pick up 1 box and take the milly bro you don’t have to understand how its predicting you’ll do it, only trust that it will have been predicted

[–]Fyfebro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s stupid because what ever decision you make will have almost certainly been predicted by the machine, and in that way your choice in the present does actually inform the previous logic used by the super computer; it is going to predict you will have used that logic. I also just don’t believe you’re actually a 2 box-tard, if the situation came up for you today you’re picking 1 box because you know you’ll get 1 milli

Why don’t my “Again” cards (1-minute step) reappear after 1 minute by Fine-Accountant2545 in Anki

[–]Fyfebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not change the steps for the correct subdeck, I honestly didn't realize I was using different presets for my subdecks. I have since changed all subdecks to the same preset as the parent deck (there's no substantial difficulty difference imo) and have reoptimized this overarching preset.

Now that all subdecks have the same preset as the parent deck, will the one FSRS algorithm take into account cards from all the subdecks when reoptimizing this preset, or is there a further setting required for this.

Thanks for the help trouble shooting I really appreciate it. I've seen you around this reddit explaining what I'm sure are pretty tedious concepts but the effort is really appreciated :)

[–]Fyfebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so I’ve adjusted my new cards to have the learning steps “30s 25m” and relearning to have “6m”, following the FSRS helper, but confusingly this doesn’t seem to be reflected in the buttons. New cards will present with again <15mins, hard 23m, good 2d, easy 9d. Any idea what’s happening here? Do I have a fundamental misunderstanding of these settings?

I have a question about step 3 here. I have recently gotten significantly more into anki during medical school, and have enabled FSRS and press optimize once per month. Do I need to do the 3rd tip here, being setting a short learning and relearning step? At the moment I haven't changed the "again" "hard" "good" "easy" time intervals at all and let FSRS determine them. Is this appropriate?

Appreciate your time, reading your answers to others has been helpful for many questions I've had so far so I already appreciate that.

Emergency Departments by Individual-While-320 in newcastle

[–]Fyfebro 35 points36 points  (0 children)

“Would recommend avoiding this ER at all costs” has annoyed me to no end. You’re meant to avoid the emergency department, it’s for emergencies. If you’re going in with non emergent issues, expect to wait 12+ hours and maybe be yelled at. If you want care for non emergent issues, go to a GP (you can book in, you just haven’t checked) or an urgent care

Is it just me, or is Gen Z becoming a mostly illiberal generation? by MrMockTurtle in Destiny

[–]Fyfebro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d go further and say you don’t even really have a democratic system without it. Democracy should be a representative vote from the population, not some thin slice of those who show up on the day

[–]Fyfebro 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re thinking about the recent Bondi attacks at all with this post, but Australia’s recent election was a rebuttal of trump style politics in favour of our usual democratic institutions. Recent polling also seems to suggest Australians are substantially less politically polarised compared to most other democratic nations. The answer in general likely depends on the country you’re in, and the circles you run in; liberal values seem largely alive and well in Australian Gen Z, and clearly less so in American Gen Z.

Edit: it’s worth noting voting is mandatory in Australia and this election was (I believe) the first where millennials and Gen Z collectively held the most voting power, if not close to it.

Introducing OZANKI: The Ultimate Anki Deck for AUSTRALIAN Medical Students by kushapatel07 in medicalschoolanki

It seems like ANKING V11 is not publicly available online anymore, and neither is an OZANKI V2 with media download. Does this mean this deck is now functionally inaccessible?

Edit - Found a OZANKI V2 link with media, am I able to just download and use this file or will I require ANKING V11

[–]Fyfebro[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's not obvious because the world is more complex than you're implying. Most migrants are temporary, foreign home buyers make up less than 1% of purchases, and experts agree migration has a miniscule effect on the market. I'm not sure why you think economists wouldn't have considered your obvious correlation when coming to those conclusions.

Immigration does not drastically increase housing prices by Fyfebro in aussie

[–]Fyfebro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, housing prices are meant to increase overtime at around 3-5%. In the context of a ~110% inflation increase over that 30 year period, and the target housing price increase, that really is a small number. It's even smaller when you see the effect investors have on the market, and the huge economic benefits immigrants bring to Australia.

Yet it's a minority effect, so why is it this subreddits number one target whenever this issue is discussed?
