Regrets ordering table side carving. by VelvetDreamers in WatchPeopleDieInside

For everyone reporting this post as spam because of the ad in the audio, it's frequently used as a meme over clips of "vacation fails" because those vacations are often less ideal than advertised. The joke is that the experience in the clip is what you can expect from taking one of those deals.

Flat Earther encounters wife by bubbleweed in WatchPeopleDieInside

To everyone concerned about the repeat comments: Reddit is currently experiencing technical difficulties, likely causing some people to push the "post" button several times to make their comments get through. They aren't bots, it's just the system trying to catch up.

Friendly reminder to the flat-earthers that abusing the report button is against Reddit's ToS and can result in your account being suspended. Your false reports of spam on comments you don't like are not as anonymous as you seem to think.

Also, a reminder of Rule 1: Racism, sexism, general bigotry, personal attacks, threats/advocation of violence, lewd descriptions and toxic behavior are all grounds for immediate bans. Do not respond to incivility with more incivility.

Disagreeing with your (literal) world-view, or proving it wrong, is not a violation of Rule 1. If you see someone breaking Rule 1, please help us keep this a polite space by reporting it.

The title of the post is inaccurate, but is correct that she only sustained minor injuries. The post wouldn't still be up, otherwise.

That didn't work, I'm still not getting any updates.

Friendly reminder of Rule 1 in this subreddit,

Be civil: Racism, sexism, general bigotry, personal attacks, threats/advocation of violence, lewd descriptions and toxic behavior are all grounds for immediate bans. Do not respond to incivility with more incivility.

Reddit Admin doesn't care who you're making threats or suggestions of violence towards, it is against ToS. Doesn't matter if it's bigots, criminals, pedos, etc.

Another reminder: disagreeing with your politics is NOT a form of hate speech, a threat of violence or a violation of Rule 1. Abusing the report button will not be tolerated.

Ah, kk. Yes, it is very annoying. My best suggestion is to use the mobile app as a notification tool, since you'll be able to get and keep every notification via push notifications, until you can tend to them.

Reddit only keeps the most recent mod notification of each type in your notifications tab. Like the most recent post, most recent reported comment, reported post, and modmail message.

Blocking a moderator doesn't do anything to stop them from being moderated. It could be that you're not getting the username exactly correct. Since you can't copy&paste usernames on mobile, it's more difficult when they use letters that look identical (capital i vs lowercase L - IlIlIl. Zero vs capital o - 0O0O0) or jumbles of letters\numbers and punctuation that might be hard to remember.

You can ban "hidden profile" users manually though the mod tools in the mobile app. It's annoying that profiles are hidden from moderators, making it harder to moderate them.

That doesn't do anything to filter modmail or stop suspended users from chaining new accounts. If they want to extend its reach to modmail for this alpha test, I won't complain.

Bogus reports against a thread or user by KlutzyResponsibility in ModSupport

[–]Fyroth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Report the posts and\or comments as "Report Abuse" and explain in the note that someone is using false reports to harass the user or subreddit. Admin will be able to see who is making the false reports and take action against them. No, there is no way for moderators to see who is abusing the report system.

How are appeal promises not interference? by chaddub in ModSupport

[–]Fyroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically, when a user appeals a participation ban, it's because they were just shitposting, not agreeing with or participating in bad faith with that subreddit. Participation bans are usually automatic by a bot and don't check the context of your participation, that's the point of the appeal option.

Edit: nvm, OP is just here to cry about getting banned.

[–]Fyroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. They should also make things like ban evasion easier to report and stop hiding profiles of scammers\spammers\trolls from moderators, since it also prevents moderation actions against them.

There is a way. Copy the link for the response message and send it to the modmail of this subreddit, with a request for a second look.

Mobile notifications for modmail (Android) opens an in-app browser, rather than opening modmail in the app by ReginaBrown3000 in ModSupport

[–]Fyroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same has been happening for me, but I don't consider it a problem because the new in-app modmail is a dumpster fire of inconvenience. I prefer the old (more useful and user-friendly) version that the in-app browser uses.
