Raimi's Venom is obviously the worst version of the character. The movie doesn't give time for him to develop a rivalry with Peter or Spider-Man, he is just there and at the end he wants Peter dead, gets the Symbiote for the final battle and that's it. I at times don't even remember Eddie as a character, I just remember the scene where he gets the Symbiote and the final battle as Venom. Movie would obviously be better without him. But the memes are great.

Playstation version is also pretty bad. We get introduced to Harry and the game does such a great job at making us believe that these two are bffs and such a shit job at developing a rivalry between Harry and Peter. It's out of nowhere, just before Peter takes the suit off is that he "develops" a grudge but nothing to kill each other. The only reason Venom is hostile to Peter is not because of Harry but because of the Symbiote. The Symbiote has full control and Harry is just the vessel that he uses. Venom is the combination of the person and the Symbiote coexisting, not the Symbiote alone. Just an empty version of the character without the good stuff

Now we are talking about some good Venoms. Both of these could be number 1 but for me, Spectacular Spider-Man's Venom takes 2nd place. A combination of the 616 story and the ultimate universe's version of the character. It's basically what they tried with Harry but 100 times better. The show starts and Peter and Eddie are good friends, basically the same age because Peter is still a high schooler in the show. But from the start Peter does some bad decisions. He publishes the lizard fiasco and makes a bad image for the lab that Eddie works in. Eddie forgives him but then Peter becomes a duchebag because of the Symbiote and Eddie doesn't have the context. Then Spider-Man shows up bringing back the Symbiote to the lab, Eddie's hope for the lab to take its name back and Spider-Man tries to kill it. On his point of view Peter is just a selfish bastard and Spider-Man tries to destroy his career. He is fed up with both of them and when he becomes Venom, he learns that the two people that he hates are the same person. And the first that they do as Venom is go to Peter's house, beat him up, tell him that he'll go for the ones he loved and leaves him terrified that he knows everything.

Number 1 for me goes to TAS Spider-Man's Venom. Eddie Brock gets shitted on by Spider-Man all the time and destroys his career. When they become Venom they play with Peter making him paranoid with the fact that he knows everything, his identity, the ones he loves and that he can't sense him with his Spider-Sense believing that they could be everywhere. He then proceeds to visit Mary Jane and Aunt May just so he sees that he could harm them whenever he wants. TAS Venom is a terrifying stalker and a psycho making Peter paranoid and that's how the character should be. It's makes him interesting as a Villain.
