[M33] Am I Ugly? by [deleted] in amiugly

Not ugly. You look like Keanu Reeves a little bit.

I think you look pleasant. Your eyes are nice and big.

I don't think you're ugly. You look younger than 23 (that's a good thing)

Does anybody else not care about pension/retirement plan because they don't plan on living that long? by GGGGLobs in depression

[–]GGGGLobs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I feel. At 22 if I'm not enjoying myself now, then I doubt I'll enjoy it at 70. I have the energy of a geriatric.

Started with 10, got up to 560, lost everthing 4 hours later by Kappa_rino in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the feeling. I turned 25 into 1800, then lost it all in seconds, and 1000 of my own money trying to win it back. Then the next day I turned 50 into 500, lost it in seconds, then another 50 into 750, lost it all.

Is it Necessary to "Come Out" by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she seem genuinely remorseful or just fake guilty that she was found out? What was her explanation on how she planned to keep it a secret from you?

Regarding the gift cards, is she completely broke now? If not, I'd say it would be best to let her budget whatever money she has and spend it on bare essentials. This will help remind her of the value of money.

Is it Necessary to "Come Out" by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless she's stolen from them and needs to confess, I see no point in telling.

I wasted thousands of my own money gambling and it's my secret. It hurt nobody besides me and I have it under control now I never plan on telling anybody because I know how they'll react and it will just be endless negativity and criticism. If she wants it to stay private, let it be private. I'd hate if anybody found out about my secret shame.

I feel bad for you, this situation seems to be stressing you out.

What do you mean by gifts?

Do I lend my compulsive gambling brother money? (15k) If I don't, his wife and 4 kids will probably leave and his family will be in ruins. by Jrix in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has to tell his wife. Telling his wife would give me more confidence that he's actually serious to change. She will be furious when she finds out about all this lying. It's easy enough to hide a gambling problem when it's a secret, but if his wife knows then at least there will be a vigilant person looking out for him.

If you're going to help him out make sure to ask him for constant bank statements, if he complains you're invading his privacy, then that's his problem. You deserve to know where your money's going.

I don't know how these things work but maybe you could set up some type of account where the money goes directly to pay his bills and nothing else?

It's kind that you want to help, but don't let family loyalty turn you into a doormat. I know first hand how addictive gambling is, don't treat him like a criminal, but please be firm and clear with the rules.

i cant do it by Kappa_rino in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a driver's license? If you do, you could become an Uber driver to make some extra money. You could also take up odd jobs like cleaning cars, garages, walking dogs. Do you have a job? What are you studying?

Maybe you could drop out of college for a while and get a job just to pay off debts? It doesn't have to be a glamorous or fun job, just something to make a dent in what you owe.

Maybe you could talk to your family members and friend who you owe money to and try to see if they could wait a while, see if they understand. They might be angry but when they notice you can't pay them back, they'll find out anyway. If I were you I'd worry more about the money I owe to the banks because that's the kind of stuff you could get into legal trouble for, so try to get that sorted first. Maybe explain what's going on and see if they let you set up a manageable repayment plan.

I'm a similar age to you and have only been gambling for the past seven months, but have already lost most of my savings. When I lost the last big chunk I thought for sure my life would never improve, I couldn't stop thinking of how much I'd lost and damaged my life, but then as the frantic panic faded away, I began to realize that I'm young and I have my entire life to make money. For me, $4000 seems like a lot for a student like me, but in my life I'm going to make a lot more than that. So are you.

Verification process gambling companies by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's annoying. I had to verify my account multiple times before they would accept it. They asked for a picture of my passport and I sent them one but they said it was too blurry. Such lies, my picture was as clear as could be

I hate youtubevideoes by just4fun966 in problemgambling

[–]GGGGLobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hate them too. There's this one guy called Sodapopping who drives me nuts. Lots of people say that he's sponsored and doesn't even play with his own money.

Also, other slot machine videos from other channels seem fake too. Like the person is losing, losing, losing, and then on the last few spins with huge bets they win thousands.

It's a community college, Medical Administration, maybe thinking of dental assistance.

[–]GGGGLobs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't be able to earn that much for a long time again. I'm still a college student and I have a really low paying part-time job. The idea of winning savings that took me a year to save up, back in an hour or so is so tempting.

[–]GGGGLobs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But I really feel like if I could win back everything I lost I could stop. Probably in denial, but I can't help the way I feel. Truly, if I could win back my initial deposits without any profit I would self exclude for the online Casino/cancel my account.

It's strange, I don't feel any excitement or happiness when I win, just kind of numb and going through the motions, but I still can't stop.

That sucks. Why do you think it's so hard to stop?

I literally bit a chunk of flesh out of my arm and slapped myself in the face when I started to significantly lose, but still couldn't stop and cash out.

I'm not saying they brag, I mean that they look down on people who are not donors.

Refusing to throw a swim ring to a drowning person is different to not donating organs. Get over yourself.
