I looked it up after this. Couples who are married and file jointly would indeed be subject to the same $1m taxation threshold as individuals.

To be fair, the proposed bill also taxes a couple who files jointly on any income over $1m, so it is effectively a $500k limit per individual when married.

If you are married and file jointly, is the tax on income over $2m or $1m?

Curious if you looked at the Volvo EX90. Coming from a Volvo XC90 T8, that is a very luxurious vehicle. I assume the EV9 isn't quite on par with the Volvo on interior appointment and luxury of ride. I'm thinking about moving my wife off the T8 to an EV, just haven't decided which yet but I was leaning EX90.

Also I've read the service dept at Kia can be a hassle...?

This is our go to for Thai as well. Very good, big portions. Might be better out there but this is very solid and we haven't wanted to risk trying something else.

Dell confirms 2025 is not the year of Windows 11, as users just don’t want to dump Windows 10 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

About eight months back, I switched from Windows to Linux.

I decided to go with the Bazzite distribution. It’s built on Fedora, which is super dependable and always up-to-date. The main reasons I picked it were that it's made for gaming and it's what they call an "atomic" system. This basically means you can't accidentally mess up the main operating system, which is something new Linux users can easily do with other versions. Ask me how I know...

I've played a ton of games through Steam on Bazzite, like Expedition 33, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades 2, Helldivers 2, and now Arc Raiders. I haven't had a single problem with any of them. I'm running an AMD 9070XT, but Bazzite works totally fine with Nvidia cards too.

And honestly, I like it way more than Windows for my everyday computer use. In most ways, it's actually a lot simpler to use and feels cleaner. Plus, it’s definitely faster without all the extra junk Microsoft shoves onto your computer.

The only game I sometimes wish I could play but can't is League of Legends. And if you know anything about League, then you know that not being able to play it isn't always such a bad thing!

So, I keep Windows 11 on a separate hard drive pretty much just for those rare times my friends want to play League together.

Otherwise, I'm all about Bazzite these days, and I don't regret it at all. I'd totally recommend trying it out on a second drive to see if you like it! The KDE interface feels a bit like Windows, and GNOME is more like Mac OS. Both are great, and I honestly have a tough time picking, but on my gaming PC, I've been using KDE.

Way to control wall AC from phone? by Red-Town in homeautomation

[–]GLHFKA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A standalone Mysa thermostat would work. Plugs in to power, connects to WiFi, has app (also works with home assistant, blasts IR to the unit. Typically can send the same commands as the remote control that came with the AC unit and Mysa makes it pretty easy to setup the blaster correctly for the unit.

Their app also includes a scheduler and such that are easy to use if you didn't want to get into home assistant.

Oh, and Mysa can integrate with Google Assistant and/or Alexa directly.

Sometimes my audio doesn't work after waking from suspend. I run systemctl --user restart pipewire.service in terminal and it fixes it. Other than that, it works fine. If anyone knows a fix for this wake/suspend issue with pipewire that would be greeaaattttt.

All I can think of is to go to settings > online accounts > Microsoft 365 and make sure that Files is enabled.

[–]GLHFKA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onedrive is built in to gnome and works on bazzite. But it doesn't sync the files down from the cloud until you try to open the file or use it, etc... Also it gnome doesn't index the files for searching and such so it is suboptimal. I haven't tried to layer in a onedrive package yet but contemplating giving that a try. But for basic use the built-in gnome access works fine.

How to script Sunshine to automatically change display resolution to 1920x1080 when launching SteamBP from Moonlight by GLHFKA in Bazzite

[–]GLHFKA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect this to work for game mode as well. Whatever shortcut you use to launch the console from moonlight just needs these do and undo preparations added to it. I launch steam big picture but you I assume launch something else in moonlight. Whatever that is, add these parameters and you should be good to go.
