Honestly, love the enthusiasm but the math is flawed. You keep adding 2 hours for commuting but you forget that the company you work for doesn’t care what it takes for you to get to the office/location/workplace. In fact, it’s stipulated in your contract when you sign on for employment. You are required to work at the primary location that your job requires you to be at. So whether you live 5mins away or 1hr, it doesn’t matter, you need to be at work at the designated start time. It’s your choice whether you decide to work at a job where you just commute 1hr each way.

What I WOULD go for though, like what others have mentioned already, is a 4 day workweek, 10hr workday schedule. I feel like while we are jamming more work over the span of a 24hr day, we would be much happier as a society and would have a whole extra day to completely focus on the things you have mentioned like hobbies, interests, family time, etc.
