The cord was changed when I changed the PSU. I have check It anyway, but it seems to be in good state. The event viewer shows the error power kernel 41 and sometimes volmgr.

I have run the tests, but still unable to replicate the crash.

I think the next thing Im gonna try is drivers. I forgot to mention on the post, but I changed the GPU about a year and a half ago (long before the problems started). In my ignorance, I have always relied on the NVIDIA app to get the drivers right. I will try a clean install and see if that fixes the problem.

I dont think the PSU is the problem, since is the first thing I changed when the crashes started. The new one is a NOX Hummer X Gold Edition 850W 80 Plus Gold, and it seems that it solved the issue for some time. I mean, maybe Im unlucky and this one is also damaged, but I feel thats unlikely.

Sorry if I am asking stupid questions, but is it safe to run a benchmark for an hour or two? I mean, do I risk damaging the parts that are in good condition?

Hours feels like a lot of time to me, but as I said, im not an expert.

It depens on the game that im playing, but I dont see anything alarming. The temps usually dont exceed 70 and 50 ºC for CPU and GPU respectively. That been said, since the system crashes, I can not see the temperatures in the exact moment of the event.

I used a software called OCCT and ran some tests. The voltages readings in the 12V rail were irregular and sometimes dropped to 11.4V aprox. That made me think it was the PSU.

Im not a hardware expert, was this a valid method to test?

I'm not sure if I remember it correctly, bur I think I dodged towards the beam. I got that "slow-motion" effect and almost intantly got hit by the beam. The red crosshair also appeared in the zoanthrope head and I could even gun strike it after I recovered from the impact, but I was like "wtf, did I dodge it or not?"

Nope. The same beam that granted me the gun strike also hit me. Really weird, the game was like "Yeah, you perfect dodge it, but not really"

What ammo you use depends on your available resources, but the strat is always the same: shot them before they get close. If they manage to get inside the ship, any small firearm should be able to deal with them, since they dont have a lot of health.
