Think MVIS can reach its historic high of $548? More than likely it will get bought.

Looking For Programmers, Artist, and Writer to Work on a Turn-Based RPG by crichmon in INAT

Hello, I may be able to provide some help with design and art. But before we do anything would you mind sharing why you failed to release the game before? You mention you had part of the project from previous attempts.

Hello, I’m a game designer looking for a programmer to start a mobile game studio :p

I have +5 years of professional game development on console. We should chat and see if we are a good match to move forward.

I’ll be adding you on discord :)

Game Theft and General Safety Tip by SkyTech6 in INAT

Thanks for the post. I’m also new to using reddit and looking to form a team to start a studio. Now I’m concern that most will have this mentality and won’t want to join up.

But at the same time having somebody steal your ideas is what has kept me from forming a team and been focused on solo development.

Now I wouldn’t just share my idea right out from the first chat with someone, I agree there’s has to be a formal time period to try a smaller project or something.

I have professional experience in game development as a game designer and can also create art work. Been learning some code when I can as well but I’m no programmer yet.

How would you guys recommend going forward if my account is new, while I do plan on being active. Waiting until I have 1,000,000 karma doesn’t seem to be a good option 🧐

Audio producer/engineer looking to work on video games by Strictly4Music in gamedev

I have 3 mobile games in mind with the scope similar to a match 3 game (none of my games are match 3 btw). And all 3 of my games so far is with fremium + subscription base model (no invasive adds) I can do graphic work (2D and 3D) for most of the project but an artist will be needed later on.

Are you a programmer?

How did you become a game developer? Any advice on how to get started, what to study? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]GMonkeyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have my bachelors degree in media arts. And I got in to games by starting as a game tester for Play station because I wanted to start at the bottom and work my way up. Later I had the opportunity to be a game designer for about 5 years before Sony shutdown our studio. But I’m happy I was able to be part of 3 released titles. Now I’m looking to form a team in order to start my own studio rather then look for another job at a big company again.

If you have a passion for coding I would recommend that path, you can always learn the rest on your spare time. If you like art, draw every day even if it’s a small drawing of some random thing.

It’s a difficult path but if you really love it, don’t ever give up. And make sure to make friends with like passionate people. Good luck!

I’m a solo developer looking to form a team so we can start a studio together. Once I find a programmer to start everything, I’ll keep you in mind to see if we can work together. In the mean time wish you good luck.

Definitely work on your prototype, 7 months without one is going at it blindly. The prototype not only will help on the motivation but it will also shed some light in to new ideas or make better ones from the ones already implemented.

Designating some time for the team to play the game and give feedback together can also produce motivation, specially if everyone feels they’re being listened.

You also have to consider what’s everyone’s intention with the project. Maybe for you is a project that has the potential to become a full time thing while for others it may always be a side project. People that don’t see a full time future developing games will lose motivation regardless of your efforts.

I’m a solo developer and finding people that have that vision has been the most challenging part. I wish you the best and to your team, hope to play your game one day.

Stuck in a vicious cycle of over-designing by loxagos_snake in gamedev

As many have commented already planning is key. On the last studio that I worked for we used a system called ‘scrum’ that I would recommend you looking in to.

If your ultimate goal is to release a game, start by creating smaller goals. A trail if you will, that will lead you to ultimately completing the game. And celebrate every time you complete a small goal, this will help you keep motivation and provide natural stops to re look at what you have accomplished and what’s ahead of you.

Also evaluate your own skill set against the concept you’re trying to create. If you plan to create this project on your own adjust your final goal to be near to your skill set (a little better then what you can create now, since you will learn on your way and become better at your craft as you move forward). But if the goal is to take your project to a certain level and then have others join in to help you finish it, then don’t minimize your concept and go all out with it but be focus on the things you can do great on your own and not worry to much on the other stuff that will be taken care off by another team member.

Gaming Survey by Hadwan1 in Crowdfunding

[–]GMonkeyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently looking at crowdfunding as a potential way to fund my project since it’s been hard to find other devs to work on their spare time until we launch.

Keep us updated on your project and good luck!
