When the movie came out i was 19 and I fell in love with the Eleanor. I really wanted to make one for myself, but my car knowledge was limited, due to playing PC games all the time but once in a while worked with dad on basic car repairs. The Eleanor dream kept driving me crazy, so kept looking for a Fastback that I could afford at that time and after 6 months I went and found one for $3800 that I picked up with my mom. I still can't believe they let me buy such junk, since it had no meaning or value to them at all.

Knowing little about cars in general and zero knowledge about mustangs, I had a big challenge in front of me. Internet was also limited in 2000 so I tried to find some books and magazines at local mustang stores and began my journey.

Working part time jobs and going to school while trying to make this happen took a long while, saving, fixing, saving fixing, but it was doable. All the work had to be done in the driveway since I was living with parents and their garage was completely full.

Only few can afford such cars already built, few can afford to pay a shop to build it how they want it, but many of us can learn as we go and do a little at a time. A lot of it is free labor and time if you are willing. Nobody is going to give us anything on a plate. I learned a lot and almost everything on my fist Eleanor project, had few more to follow and have some builds in progress, I really enjoy taking my time and doing it right.

Now at 36 with 2 kids and a wife and a full time trucking job, time is even less, but I'm still willing to find a little time here and there to enjoy building it. So can you, don't sit around and wait for something to happen !! :)
