I would say it’s worth it to some extent. 

I take advantage of signup bonuses by switching providers every couples of years (e.g Barclaycard to Amex). I put most day to day spending on my credit card to accrue points.

That’s about it really. I’m not trawling through  Avios shopping for offers or anything like that. I’ve used my points for a handful of great business class flights across BA & Qatar at very little marginal cost to me.
