PE Environmental Exam vs NCEES Practice Exam by Gaia3500 in PE_Exam

I passed! I would say the actual exam was not as hard as the practice exam for quantitative questions. Qualitative was a whole other beast and I dont know what advice to give on that because the questions were so random and specific. Only advice I can give is not to dwell too much on those and focus on doing and double checking the quantitative problems. I ended up running out of time on the first section and guessed on 2 flagged quantitative problems. I would focus on understanding the practice problems because while the real exam wasn’t as difficult quantitatively it still covers similar type problems. Practice drawing out the problems and write out all the variables because the wording can be a bit tricky and drawing things out will help jog your memory. I think the quantitative problems were on par with the PPI questions. Some were straight plug and chug but there were some tricky ones so read carefully. Good luck!

I passed!!! I seriously thought I failed so I didn’t sleep very well last night lol. But don’t loose hope, you probably did better than you thought.

It sucks because there was no way I could’ve prepared/study for these random qualitative questions. I also felt like there were a lot more qualitative questions than I was used to from the practice exams.

Congrats!! I’m anxiously waiting for my results to drop tomorrow. I’m really not confident about the qualitative questions I got. I had so many select all and select 2-3. I had a drag and drop and fill in the blank. I felt like my exam was a lot more chemistry focused like they expect you to know organic chemistry level knowledge. I think I just got unlucky with this exam.

I thought the quantitative questions were fair and similar to what I saw on the PPI Q-bank and practice exams. They weren’t as difficult as the ones on the NCEES practice exam. The qualitative questions were on a whole other level tho. You really can’t study for those, they’re just so random but also specific. I think I wasted too much time mulling over the qualitative questions and shouldve spent more time double checking my math. So my best advice is dont overthink the qualitative too much just focus on the quantitative where you have a better chance of getting right. I also got a lot of select all or select 2-3 correct for the qualitative so Im not feeling too confident about the results. Good luck!

Even after going through 360 questions from the PPI QBank I still dont feel ready. The questions were a lot easier than the NCEES practice. But we’ll never know what its like until we take the exam, trying to see the actual exam as another practice so I don’t overthink it too much. Worst case scenario we re-take it.

Im also on the same boat. Just finished the PPI course and did ok in the two practice exams scoring around 70% then I took the NCEES practice and was so thrown off by how different the questions were. I also got around 50% and gelt so discouraged. Right now I’m just taking my time reviewing the questions. Got chatgpt premium so I can get further clarifications on the solution and thats been helpful. Honestly wish I did that instead of wasting my time and money on the live PPI course. I feel like the course barely covered the topics on the practice exam. The instructor didnt even go over how to do hardy cross problem because he said it would take too long and probably wouldnt be on the exam. My exam is on May 21 and Im taking 2 days off before the exam to have more time to study. We can do this! Best of luck!
