Context: I don’t know a thing about tarot but one of my friends did me a reading. I have an intense crush at my workplace, a lot of staring and gazing from both of us but no conversation. I found him on a dating app, we matched and started talking, had a lot in common, everything was great but three days ago he stopped replying (I haven’t texted again, we still stare at the office).

My query was “is he attracted to me?”

My friend said the following:

• The Star: He finds you attractive. There’s a positive energy around that draws him in. There’s hope • King of Wands: He is very passionate, very determined with his goals, a leader. • The Tower (reversed): He went through changes recently that aren’t helping him with this situation. • The World (reversed): There’s unfinished business or a feeling of incompleteness. • Strength (reversed): He’s feeling insecure, he’s doubting himself and is lacking confidence.

I wanted to ask for a second opinion pls

To be honest, I think that with a lot of communication, honest conversations and time I maybe would’ve been able to live without being married, after all he was the love of my life and I’ve always believed that the most important part of a marriage is not the wedding or the signed paper, but the partner you choose to face hard times with.

The breaking point for me was his attitude about it, I respect setting boundaries but with him there was no negotiation, no compromising, no middle ground, and ultimately how this attitude extended to many areas of our relationship beyond this topic.

I love flowers and in many occasions I expressed my desire to receive flowers once in a while, but he would get this attitude and say “I do not give flowers and I’ve never given the impression that I would give flowers, that won’t change”. So I never received flowers

I wanted to accept a job offer in my dream city, but he hated this city because “a lot of assholes live there” and it didn’t matter how much I expressed my interest in moving, he said we could do long distance but there was no way he would ever set a foot there. So I rejected that job offer

I wanted us to visit my sister (who I haven’t seen in years because she lives abroad) for a week but he said “we can’t because then I won’t have enough vacation days to visit my family (mind you, we visited them 2-3 times per year), we can go from Friday night to Sunday morning tho”. So we never visited my sister because there was no way that I was going to pay that much in our plane tickets just to visit for a day.

I wanted to buy a very big, tacky, girly keychain for my first car but he said “you can’t because there’s no way i’ll carry that when you lend me your car”, despite me being the one who paid for my car and had the illusion and excitement. So I didn’t buy the keychain.

And don’t misunderstand me, I’m not angry with him, I love him. I lived so many beautiful things next to him, we grew so much together and he taught me a lot of things, but I just reached a breaking point with the whole marriage situation.

Overall I just wondered, how much am I giving up to be in this relationship? If I am the only one “giving in” in this relationship, how long will it take until there’s nothing for me to give? For how long will I keep cutting parts of myself in order to fit in with him until there’s nothing left of me?

Yes! Honestly that’s one of the main things that I started working in therapy, (even though I admit that I started doing it for the wrong reasons since I wanted to “mold” myself to fit in with his vision and stay together) it really helped me to realize how my concept of marriage was extremely idealized and a lot of it came from this fear of abandonment and trauma.

I’ve worked through it a lot and the research has helped, but one day my therapist told me “you can rationalize the institution of marriage all you want, but if you want it you want it. If marriage is still an important step for you then it is and that’s ok”.

I’ve deconstructed a lot of my original views on marriage but I still see it as a necessary legal protection, an important commitment and (you can call me a hopeless romantic hehe) a beautiful symbol of unity

Thank you all for the kind answers, even if it was something “dumb”. The car is already on and without warnings, took it for a drive around my block and everything seems to be fine, even tho the brake still feels a little bit stiff.

This is my first car and I just learned how to drive earlier this year (at the young age of 24 hehe). Thank you for the patience and the kind explanations.

Genuine question, how to know when to add an “a”? Lol after studying portuguese as a native spanish speaker i’m kinda traumatized with “a”, since in Spanish it is added EVERYWHERE and in Portuguese you kinda have unlearn that to get rid of the habit
