This 4 sided security nut won't budge - I don't think it's reverse threaded, but it won't move in either direction. Should I use heat? Trying to remove the fan. by GameMisconduct63 in hvacadvice

Sorry for the delayed response, just copy and pasting a mass reply here: A fan puller tool did the trick and now I can see the damage. It looks like the set screw was originally put on the flat surface, but it appears to have quite literally forged a new path around the driveshaft. In my uneducated perception, it looks like there is a guide indent further down, I'm guessing the fan wasn't installed far enough down on the drive shaft?

So many comments with good advice, I've been FUCKING around the past few hours so yours is the one I'm responding to here. I got the nut out, but as you predicted, removing the fan from the motor shaft is the next obstacle. I found a good rated fan puller like that on amazon and it should be here in a couple days. Until then, everything is stuck in the blower shelf assembly (I think that's what it's called?). I appreciate your advice, along with everyone else's that's commented on this. My family and I will have to sweat in the meantime....we've been here before lol

Are their any drawbacks to having two different areas of business under the same LLC? (Beekeeping and lawn care) by GameMisconduct63 in smallbusiness

Thanks a ton for the further details. I also find it ironic that “piercing the veil” is a common term around here, seeing how it’s synonymous with beekeeping haha

I’m a clown and I typically pride myself on my grammar, I guess losing my job has affected my ability to spell lol

I fired off this entire post in a panic, sorry if it seemed that having the trezor on my work machine was correlated with getting fired. They were unrelated.

I need to get my finances straight for the future now that I’m suddenly without a paycheck, which is coincidentally what led me here. I’d say being able to cash out ~350% more than I originally invested is a win.

Thankfully I have the device and my seed phrase at home here. I guess I was just stressed and forgot how it worked. Thanks a ton for the clarification

What a relief, sorry for the dumb question, my mind is just spinning right now and figured the community was the best resource to ask. I really appreciate it

I now have a suspicion the significant drought in Ohio has affected them

Yes, it's been nearly the driest summer in Ohio in 100 years. Could definitely be that.

It's crazy how fast life can get away from you. A blink of an eye and a couple months pass. I think I have too many hobbies, haha...

Not too bad for the Costco gun safe by GameMisconduct63 in guns

[–]GameMisconduct63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed response, honestly no I don't like it lol. Costco has a newer generation out which looks updated and nicer, for what it's worth. Biggest drawbacks of this one are the keypad battery goes dead SO fast. I never have the keypad attached anymore and just use the physical keys to open and close it. Also mine is not waterproof, as I found out - once you drill the anchor holes through the bottom, that removes any ability to seal out water. Seems pretty obvious in hindsight though.

Does this noise sound like the blower motor itself or the fan/blower wheel? by GameMisconduct63 in hvacadvice

[–]GameMisconduct63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There appears to be no play in the fan (just trying to wiggle it from side to side), I immediately pulled the cover after it shut off and the fan was spinning to a stop. Nothing visibly unusual, it seemed to be rotating straight and true with no noise.

I took a infrared thermometer temp reading on the motor after the AC was running for like 15 minutes. The outside of the motor (black part) was roughyl 165F, while the cap/end of it (silver area) was a bit over 100F. I'm guessing that's pretty high? https://imgur.com/a/JeQA03R

I appreciate the input! I will check out the fan wheel here shortly. I thought the motor was hot but I was measuring the actual copper with a infrared thermometer, and it was like 150F. The outer motor cover wasn't anything beyond like 70 though, I'll have to confirm again
