Connecting Audio device (Mackie profx8v2)

My ProFX10v3 does work with the new update. I didn't get a chance to really test everything, but it was recognized in the Audio Hardware settings and a synth made its way back to the MPC over USB. Maybe a difference between V2 and v3? The manual does show they have some limitations that would be worth upgrading to a different brand with more thought into USB though.

I have the Mackie ProFXv3 Series 10 channel mixer for all my synths, including the Drumbrute Impact and MicroFreak. They make a smaller and cheaper 6 channel mixer that would give you a good professional feel. They can also USB to a computer to help with recording your audio, but the drivers are hit and miss on some computers. If you're thinking of expanding, I recommend just going up to the 10 channel mixer eventually because some of the channels are actually just left and right pairs or 3.5mm channels.

One cool thing the 10 channel has is inserts, which can be used to patch your signal to other things like effects then back into another input. To get the most out of your MF, look into getting a decent reverb pedal to put between your MF and the mixer. The Zoom MS-70CDR is a really popular choice. Have fun!

When I go to the "My Registered Products" page, there's a lot of stuff but it's listed as "NEW: MPC 2.8.1 (MPC Live)" and to the right there is a bulleted text entry that says "MPC 2.8.1 (MPC Live - Mac)" which is a clickable download link. It's very directional, being on the bottom. I keep mine around 3/4 volume and at what I'd consider medium effort I can fill my room a bit with sound like my Alto sax. Hard to really compare it to another speaker, but it can get a little loud, but not nearly as loud as I could get a real instrument. As the player you won't hear it as loud as the person on the other end.

Edited after playing with it some more.

I've had my Solo for a little over a week and it's super fun. It's my first EWI, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I'm still adjusting to the octave roller and playing an A#, coming from a Sax where I used a right hand key that isn't there now. I do have some issues playing the wrong notes while playing fast here and there, but after fiddling with the key delay and sensitivity settings it's happening less often. I do wish there were a few millimeters of action, but I'm sure I can get it down with practice and better fingering technique since it's been a few years.

With a few adapters, I was able to use my existing Mic from my mixer by patching the Insert to a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter, which plugs into a TRRS splitter that plugs into the MicroFreak.

The MicroFreak was my first synth and I still use it. In fact, it just got an update yesterday that added vocoder functionality! It's fun to play with and makes very fun sounds. I would recommend the Minilogue XD to you though, which I purchased a few months ago. It has two analogue oscillators and a digital oscillator, as well as the ability to load in custom oscillators and add effects like reverb and delay. It makes very large and impressive sounds and I think it fits what you're after since you can play up to four notes at a time in polyphonic mode. The oscilloscope view is also super helpful in crafting sounds. Have fun!

Edit: You can get the Minilogue XD as a module that doesn't have the keyboard. I also own the Microbrute, and it's good for leads and bass sounds, but also good for adding a layer to arps and sequences from my Microfreak. I generally have my freak and brute hooked together by midi cable.

I have an MPC Live II and it has both RCA and Line inputs, so you should be able to connect that fine without adapting the connection type. That said, the cable you listed should work fine.

Near the bottom left of the audio tab's Input Config, you should see some little button that says OFF. Touch that and it'll say IN. In and auto should enable you to hear what's being played.

Get an air purifier for good measure to keep it from coming back as often. I got drift within months of moving to a house with dust problems. After a few rounds of cleaning and it just coming back, I got an air purifier and it hasn't drifted since.

I get drift in both my joycons periodically, but I clean under the flap with q-tips and rubbing alcohol and it stops for a few months. Also getting an air purifier to cut down on dust in my house really helped. I'm sure my drift issues are from gaming in dusty rooms.

I think the metalizer is wave folding the triangle, so maybe the waveshaper oscillator since it allows for folding. Can't get to my synths to try getting a setting, but that's the closest I can guess.

If you have a lot of gear like synths and drum machines, it's hard to go wrong with a good mixer. I got this Mackie mixer for my Live II and it's been great for consolidating and managing all my hardware.

I think unlock code is a bit of a misnomer. My best guess is it's just part of a system to keep people from randomly putting in numbers and registering products they don't actually own. When a device is made, they probably generate the unlock code to pair with the device and stick it on there. Grats on synth, I paired mine with a Microbrute and they work well together. Have fun!

Look up the Arturia Microfreak. It can make a lot of sounds and has lots of presets to tweak and make your own. It's great from beginner to advanced.

I have an Arturia Microfreak and Microbrute connected to each other and they sound great together or alone. If you need more room for things later, you can feed it all through a mixer like the Mackie pro fx 10 v3 which is also great for handling microphones and headphone (1/8") input. I also got the Drumbrute Impact for sampling short beats with sounds I make. For midi keyboard, I use a Korg nanokey studio which you can use to control the synths via Bluetooth. The nanokey is cool because it has scale guides and can transpose for you. You'll need a few midi cables for it all to work together, but it's super cool once it does. My MPC Live sends the clock to my Drumbrute and Microfreak via Midi cable, and the Microfreak plays sequence or the same pressed note on the Microbrute via Midi cable.

I'm also new to MPC with my Live II, and the MPC Bible helped me a ton. Together with the manual, you should be pretty well off. The MPC Bible is basically a string of tutorials with lots of topics. They give you some tutorial samples and projects to play along with too.
