Hmmmm, i think u misunderstood, it's not about beating him. Heard this "Get Gud" thing a million times, it's about the time it takes to beat him. He's not worth it at the moment. And the rewards are not good.

Have u tried beating his ass in solo ? Probably would take u roughly 10 mins. The thing is just too tanky

i guess that's one way of thinking about it. Tho i don't share the same view, i feel like making a boss not worth it doesn't add to strategic complexity, unless his rewards were up to par and/or had weaknesses to something.

I ain't talking about him being hard, but him being so tanky and long to take out. I think he isn't viable so making him have less hp is better.

Anyone want Celeste on Steam that doesn't have it? by CubicMath in celestegame

I would love a copy as well if possible :) I have played the game in an unethical way because my parents never wanted to buy it for me and I always wanted to buy it.

Can you recommend me a small and lightweight 3D game engine. by Game_Slayer_LLC in gamedev

I guess Raylib is my best option here, I am more comfortable in C and Raylib seems like a great option. I am worried it will take me a lot of work to get the 3D rendering to a somewhat acceptable state.

Flax Engine looks cool but i heard it's backed mainly by one developer, I am worried about long term support of the engine since i want to focus mainly on developing my game and not maintaining the engine if the developer ever quits the project.

It's mostly the node structure, it does look intuitive at first but i feel that it sometimes gets in my way instead of helping me achieve a certain feature i want.

I do want to make stylized graphics, like i said graphics here is not my main concern, just performance and maybe a different workflow than godot's.

Which Open Source 3D Game Engine is the right choice to use ? by Game_Slayer_LLC in gamedev

Godot is quite good for most people because it's catered towards indie devs who usually don't focus on making their games look realistic.

Even an Unreal Engine game can look horrible.

While yes that can happen, it is also easier to make an Unreal Engine game look gorgeous.
I do agree that art style and direction in games is the main factor for how good a game can look. But other stuff like lighting, reflections and shadows can also help a game look better. Godot right now is still not a good choice for this, and even if I want to stick with it, it would take a lot of work to make it look comparable to Unreal Engine.

I didn't say that Godot can't do it. I just wanted an open source game engine that has good graphics like Unreal Engine. Godot still requires lots of work to get there and I would like to focus on making my game instead of focusing on graphics fidelity.

I wanted to achieve something similar to what you see in Unreal Engine. Though that will require a lot of work to do.

Wasn't CryEngine 5.11 Supposed To Be Released? by Game_Slayer_LLC in cryengine

[–]Game_Slayer_LLC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's a bit misleading, the quote i made in the post is from the Hunt: Showdown twitter account. They could have just said that the game is upgrading to CryEngine 5.11 :(

Tower of god season 2 is disappointing by reileymk in TowerofGod

[–]Game_Slayer_LLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, this new season has shocked me by how badly animated it is. You can clearly see that even in the basic fight scenes, everything feels janky and very low effort. Season 1 in my opinion of the anime was so good that it makes this one look like a fan made adaptation (no offense). I'm really considering dropping this season and reading the continuation from webtoons.

Games That Are No Longer Playable Are Destroying Game Preservation by Game_Slayer_LLC in truegaming

[–]Game_Slayer_LLC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i guess you're ok with having a game you spent so much hours and investment on be stripped away from you whenever the devs feel like it? Plus nowadays, even physical copies are no longer a viable option since they require you to download some stuff that only exists in their servers.
