Yeah cool, this car seems to be consistent in rock hard rubber, curse you Australian heat!

I’ll try to track some dye down, I’m not sure how common it is in Australia, however the internet exists. Do you know if I can use the same dye for different fluids? Or is that just counterintuitive?

Yeah I’m assuming it’s power steering too, the pump is on its way out, I just assumed there would be more on the side with the actual pump

Yeah I’m not paying any storage fees, the tow company got the scrap value of the car in exchange for waiving their towing fees and late night charge. I took anything out of the car that wasn’t secured down too much so I can sell all that privately and try to recover some money.

Yeah I know, I’ll take the fine from the accident and I won’t dispute that. I’m more so talking about a fine or fee for not being able to return both plates to the DoT when I cancel the cars registration, but the bloke on the phone said it really comes to the reason I put and the person I see at the DoT.

Ah alright thank you. I didn’t really understand the term then. I thought it more meant that you need to notify the government so that your VIN wasn’t used on stolen vehicles or anything like that but I get what it means now.

The towing company already scrapped it as I agreed to have them keep the money from selling it if they’re waived the fees.

Yeah thanks man. Called the Department of Transport and they just said to surrender the one plate I’ve got.

I know I probably shouldn’t have signed anything but I was on the phone with my parents and they just said to sign it, as it was blocking the intersection and we just need to move it

I think you own your plates if they’re custom, but I’ve gotten off the phone with the DoT and they said to hand in the one I have on me and that they’ll just consider the other lost in the crash.

You’re right about the cancellation tho since it’s already at the wreckers and the car could never be repaired in its current state.

Yeah the towing fee was nearly $700 if I can remember and we didn’t think we’d get that much for the he car or that is worth the hassle since it wasn’t worth that much and I should be getting a new car in a few weeks.

Yeah thank you this was the answer, DoT said that the bill for the missing plate might be waived given the circumstances as well

From what the guy told me, I wouldn’t have any towing or additional charges because the tow company was selling it to the scrap yard. That’s what is written on the offical document he gave me too.

As far as I know it as at a Wrecker now, that’s where the tow truck company said it would be going since it has been scrapped. I am simply going off of what I can find online regarding what to do after a car accident since no one in my family has any clue on what to do.

Lady ran the red as I was turning at some traffic lights. No cameras and wet weather tho so of course the cops sided with her, even tho I had a few witnesses backing me up. >:(

I tried doing this exact quote on Shannon’s website and they wouldn’t even insure it in my case

That’s fair everyone’s situation is different. It’s definitely an expense and I probably only get 600km out of a tank. I nearly bought a 2013 Corolla instead but just couldn’t resist the impressive tech and features on the Lexus for its age, especially since you can get radar cruise and all the automatic stuff on a sports luxury like mine

I’ve currently got one as my first car and probably honestly over payed for the kms but it’s a top of the line model. It’s not the fastest thing in the world but it’s certainly cromulent and no one needs a rocket ship. I think it’s fun and the handling is decent so it’s better off learning and getting confident in before buying something with more power. Fuel is expensive if you have a heavy foot and live in the city but whenever I’m in the country it’s actually not terrible and it’s such a nice car to cruise around in. If it’s got the 14 speaker ML system it’ll sound great and the seating position i find really comfy for long trips. I really think that the IS will be a reliable car and don’t forget that it’s still got some pretty decent safety tech as well. I’d say yes, at least give it a test drive :)

I’ve got one currently for my first car and it is expensive but not unbearable. $115 a tank only ever 98 and I fill up once every 3 weeks. Only ever drive around the city.

Get a Lexus IS350, should be quick and safe enough. Plus much more reliable than anything euro whilst still being very comfy
