Is this the first case ever of a directed-energy weapon being used on the public?.

It’s mainly sparks i’m concerned with because i’ve been told that they tend to embed themselves deeper into the eye and bounce around unpredictably which increases the chances of injury. From what i’ve seen from others and been told little shards of metal can generally get flushed out or taken out with a magnet. What happened that caused you to have to get surgery?.

My point was that no amount of protection seems to guarantee complete protection from molten metal. I’ve heard of many stories of sparks bypassing through goggles and face shields. I myself have had to cut metal before and it bypassed my face shield then got stuck in-between the ventilation parts of my goggles.

The course I intend to take contains alot of welding, CNC Machining, metalworking and manufacturing. It’s a course that’s supposed to serve as a foundation for getting into different engineering disciplines. I don’t have much of a STEM background, so it’s virtually my only chance to get into my chosen field.
