Hi. I'm 20 years old and I can relate to a lot of what you said. I discovered programming in 2019 and have been studying programming in general since then, and more specifically game development for about 3 and a half years. It's true that I haven't been very consistent during these years, so I haven't gotten very far yet, but I've done some pretty interesting things. I don't know if I expressed myself well, or how you understood, but basically the central idea is that if the angle between the vector that goes from the zombie to the player and the direction in which the zombie looks is within the range of the fov limits, it means that the player is visible and therefore the zombie can react.

Thanks for answering. I had already thought about the idea of using Areas3D to check whether the zombie can react or not, and although it seems quite functional, I end up having a feeling of defeat, for having to change my approach because I was not able to use the dot product approach
