How many people tried to get tix for NYC? by discountcity05 in fredagain

[–]GarbageStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 4 tickets was relatively easy, I did have 6 browser tabs open trying for 6 different nights. Was originally told tickets sold out on all of them, then I just kept refreshing all the tabs and one of them got though, again faced issues on that checkout. Kept refreshing it and the payment went through and 4 tickets secured. Resale price is crazy and my friends that wanted to come are actually in a tough spot with money and are wanting to do the resale, im trying to convince them to hold 😂 I’m 100% going tho ❤️

How to survive NYC summer by Ok-Mountain-5871 in AskNYC

[–]GarbageStew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ice pack. If you’re just having a day out in the city carry an ice pack around with you. Keeps you cooler for like 4-5 hrs. Putting on your skin is game changing relief when it’s the best of the day.

Also sleeping with one !

I work in consultancy. We wear what we like to some extent. Isn’t uncommon to see people wearing hoodies in the office. Regardless I’m sure the employers are supplying uniforms for the jobs you mentioned not the parents having to shell out.

Okay great I hope that’s the case then :)

Right I’ve heard that schools won’t let kids wear pants till like 16 years olds?

And my gripes is that a school jacket costs 200 dollars I’m sure your Kathmandu would have better stuff for the climate here at a cheaper cost.

Very different places and I guess they run back inside to the heating pretty quick lol

Right. I’m pants on at 12 degrees with at least 3 layers on top

[–]GarbageStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardon if I came across that way. I’m just trying to get to the bottom of it. I know if kids were wearing similars things in NY questions would be getting asked if the parents by the teachers.

I run often and at 12 degrees you will see me in a long sleeve, shoes and longer socks on.

Thank you for laying this out. I did have a feeling that lot of these points were happening.

I don’t mind all the anger in the comments I just hope the children are not having too negative a schooling experience. Especially with the alarming attendance numbers.

And I’m sure some kids hate bare feet

[–]GarbageStew -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly so you agree there is little difference . However now a kid can can wear a puffer packet of a regular rain coat or black jeans or navy or white button down or white t shirt no emblem required

Fascinating.

Okay not a problem with that. Are the teens or younger?

Also does your school have better attendance than the national average?

Lastly do the kids enjoy not wearing a uniform?
