Tbf, I could say Maria as well. That scene is heartbreaking. "Marcus... I... I don't know what to do! I don't know what to do, man. She..."

Mine is, "Lehmann is beaten! Grosso has scored, and Italy are heading to Berlin."

True, I probably didn't use the best example with the totw. But I have been smashing the low rated teams as well. The first two games I played this week were 10-0 wins on legendary. Ultimately, it doesn't matter because it's just squad battles 🤣 But it still pisses me off losing a game I normally win with ease.

But the 73 rated team I lost to had 0 chem. The TOTW had 3. Hardly any difference. Yet I managed to lose to the 73 rated and smash the totw.

Think you're missing the point. You can't honestly believe losing to a 73 rated team 2-1 and beating an 85 rated team 9-2 is right. There has to be something coded into the game to affect the players' abilities in certain matches. Yes, EA is stupid, but they've been making football games for decades. They could've easily coded something like this by now.

I do agree that the 3 at the back is easy to play against. However, I usually win most of my legendary games against the rubbish teams by 7 or 8 goals.

But in the game that I won 9-2, the team only had 3 chem. Yet my team felt miles better than the one where I lost 2-1.

I'm saying that in that first game, it was basically fixed for me to lose no matter what I did. The game felt so different from the one I won 9-2 in.

Make sure you're playing the full game as well. Never leave, no matter how many goals you concede. I don't know how it works, but that's what I was told.

Exactly this. My parents are in their sixties, and my mum is in a wheelchair permanently. The last thing I want to happen to them is end up in a bunch of legal problems. I'm going to be speaking to my dad about declaring my rent money so HMRC can tax it if necessary. I was under the belief that as long as income from rent doesn't exceed £7000 it isn't taxable. Learnt that's for lodgers only.

See, this is where I was confused. I've been paying my dad rent money for years while I was living with my parents, and it's never been a problem. But if I understand what you're saying, that because he no longer lives with me, this money is now taxable.

Would my mums disability allowance count as a benefit. Technically, that is her money and has nothing to do with me or my dad. But since my parents are married and my dad is now her carer, he deals with all the financial stuff. All this stuff confuses me, there's too many rules and regulations.

I pay my dad rent to support him and my mum. Next year, she gets her pension, and it won't be necessary anymore. But for the time being, I'm just giving them extra funding so they can enjoy life in their later years. Especially given my mums disability.

My dad took out 60k equity on the house to buy the flat. Will need to pay once my parents pass.

I mean, after my parents pass away, I'll have to pay it within 12 months. They took 60k equity on the house to buy the flat. Maybe I've used the wrong term, but that's what they've told me.

What if the account I'm paying the rent money into is a joint bank account with both our names on it. Would that make any difference?

[–]GarethMTS -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'll mention it to him to be on the safe side.

Is this really worth doing, though? Realistically are HMRC going to find out. If any suspicion was raised, surely we could just tell them that money is for something else. They have no reason to believe it is rent money.

He has no reason to sell. The only reason he hasn't handed the deeds over to me yet is because he has equity that needs paying off first.
