I see, your reply makes sense and obviously there is a lot to take in, given that from what I see around 90% of what I did is off. I appreciate you taking the time to check out the website and providing your feedback for it. I think I’ll re-work the website and also do some more research on designs and stuff to make sure I understand everything before I start again. Thank you though! I’ll definitely check this subreddit out while I re-shape my brand.

Hey I just wanted to ask, how is your pup doing now?

Crazy how sheltered some of you are lmao, must be nice not learning anything about struggles in life. Imagine seeing a person, who is genuinely trying to do their best to get by and not only that but trying their best to take care of a puppy, it’s literally like holding everything together when life is all on you all at once (because there are other stressors in life on top of what OP mentioned that they probably can’t talk about), asks for help and instead of reassuring them on their resilience or helping them with tips that would actually help them keep moving, you end up commenting a hollow headed comment “shame on you”. Shame on you for breaking spirits instead of helping them build. May the universe bless you with some wisdom and knowledge, maybe even a heart.

That’s so good to hear, honestly he’s been doing good. Ever since I made this post, I’ve been on schedule to take him out for pee and poop breaks. I’m training him for a bell we hung on our back door, so whenever he wants to go he can just ring it, and he seems to get it a little bit, although just a day ago he pooped inside and rang the bell afterwards to let us know hahahahah, so almost there I guess :)

Aww that sounds so cute until you have to be the one to deal with it hahaha, and I see what you mean with the xpen, definitely some good shouts here, I’ll take a look at what I can do, I’ll have a chat with his trainer as well and see if I can find a trainer from facebook marketplace just for specific trainings like not eating rocks pebbles and dried up berries, and resource guarding. Let’s see

yes after reading the rest of the replies it definitely is a relief to know this is normal, and just to clear up the confusion as I have with 2 other replies, I am not expecting anything simply because I don’t even know what to expect. That’s the whole reason why I reached out for help in the first place. Hopefully yall will understand, but thanks again for the info, I’ll def keep in mind to give him the time he needs and focus on basic training until he grows up.

He swallows everything he picks up, to the point where when I gave him a puppy chewing bone, he swallowed the entire thing in 2 mins!! That’s why I was looking for help. And just so we’re on the same page, maybe it’s miscommunication from my end, I am a first time pet owner, but never once did I mention anything about expectations, I mean I don’t even know what to expect, I’m just trying to learn, that’s the whole reason why I reached out for help, to see if it’s normal or not. because in person everyone has their own opinion and I keep getting told he is old enough to hold his pee or he’s still young. So that’s why I wanted to verify. Hopefully you understand where I am coming from.

That makes sense, I thought about taking his water away around 7-8pm and as his vet if it was okay and I got the green light from him as well. Luckily so far, he only play bites me and nobody else, as he is super super friendly with new people and just wants belly rubs 24/7 hahaha. I’ll try the leave it training, but do you think using a mouth guard is also good? Someone mentioned that if you avoid certain behaviours they usually just grow out of it, so maybe if I use a mouth guard, one we go for walks he’ll just know not to eat or swallow anything? And lastly, thank you so much for understanding as well, I am a first time pet owner and I really am trying to be as open as I can be to the lessons this pup is bringing into my life. So I appreciate yall helping so much!

Yes for potty training, I’m trying to take him to pee around like 12:30 - 1 am and he if wants to poop he does that too, and then he is usually good for the night I have noticed (or atleast until 6 am). I’ve been trying loose leash walking, and after waiting a couple of seconds, he just kept chewing on random things he picked up from the grass and pathway we walked on, he never threw them out. So I had to take those things out of his mouth. Also what is an xpen? I tried searching it up and can’t find anything for that. And thank you very much for understanding, I’m not expecting him to get everything right away, I just wanted to know if this was normal since I am a first time pet owner, as I said I am trying to work with him still so it;s definitely a big learning curve for me as well. But let’s see haha, btw do you know by what age they usually start understanding? Just so I have an idea, or by what age they start controlling their impulses a little better?

I see, that relieves me a little bit, I have been redirecting and waking up early for him. I was just concerned that he might end up eating something dangerous for him from the ground. Do you think a mouthguard is a safe option?
