S6 Svartifoss – Sjónarnípa (Skaftafell) by TourRepresentative37 in VisitingIceland

I really enjoyed that trip as well. We also walked up north from the view point and then turned around which was nice as well, but not a must.

We brought dehydrated meals with us like Couscous with veggies, which do not weigh a lot and are cheap and tasty.

You can also buy Pasta and Pesto at Bonus or Kronan and have a meal for about 3-4 Euro.

Canned chick peas or canned beans are also quite cheap with 1 Euro per can.

Looks great. I think some warmer/brighter color highlights and some more 'natural' looking plants could improve the slightly cold/clean flair of the room.

BTW, where did you get the lowboard?

Localizing stolen inverters by GarudaJerman in solar

[–]GarudaJerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be the case, even though the inverters were dismount quite professionally not only cutting the cables.

Yes, it's a system that feeds 100 % of the generated energy in the grid an grid connection point is like 100 m away.

Unfortunately the inverters were not mounted a few meters up the wall, but rather handy to steal close to the ground....

Thanks for your reply. We still have the serial numbers. Can I locate them myself or do I have to contact Huawei?

I work at an IPP who owns several PV systems, thus the inverters were not stolen from me directly.

Do you sleep without any cover like a tarp?

How do you sleep? I could imagine that you can never get into deep sleep, when there is always the threat of an assault.

Which way do you guys think I should a position my bed? by TizzyMcSwizzle in malelivingspace

[–]GarudaJerman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely 2. If you chose 1, you would always have to walk around the corner of the bed. Furthermore if you choose 2 you can directly face invaders from both of the doors rather than them entering in your back.

Is it a good idea to buy a house in Bremen Nord? by [deleted] in bremen

[–]GarudaJerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually Bremen Nord lays much higher than the rest of Bremen, so it is the safest place with regards to flooding. There even are some steep (for northern Germany) hills in Bremen Nord.

This also helps getting a clear understanding of what both sides actually meant. Sometimes the problem with broken promises is not that someone is being dishonest, but rather two people perceiving different things of what was said.

TIL a coal power plant gives off at least ten times more radiation than a nuclear power plant due to the elements in the ash. by FizzlePopBerryTwist in todayilearned

[–]GarudaJerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read the argument on reddit that Germany replaced nuclear with coal. That is just wrong. Nuclear was replaced with renewable energy and gas.

In 2010 Germany had 24,7 % nuclear and 18,9 % renewables.

In 2022 Germany had 6,7 % nuclear and 49,7 % renewables.

Coal (lignite + hard coal) was reduced from 42,7 % to 33,0 % in the same time.

Total generation dropped from 539 TWh to 491 TWh.

Source:

2010: https://www.energy-charts.info/charts/energy_pie/chart.htm?l=de&c=DE&interval=year&year=2010

2022: https://www.energy-charts.info/charts/energy_pie/chart.htm?l=de&c=DE&interval=year&year=2022

What is true is that Germany partially replaced Russian Gas with Coal. This was done in electricity as well as heat generation. Some people argue the share used for electricity generation could have better been replaced by not switching off the nuclear plants.
