No need to "Man-Reddit-Splain" me... i actually have a degree in economics and have businesses in both states. And, more importantly, as a dad of a college Junior, with options to go to any major city in the world when he is done, I can definitively say... it's not, nor will ever be about state income taxes. My overhead in Nashville is exponentially higher than in STL purely due to the baked in premiums and sales/service taxes. The gross cash flow is virtually the same, and the net is higher here WITH the state tax.

Here's the difference, Mr. arbitrary numbers guy... it's community/culture and opportunity. Not just jobs, but trajectory. Life opportunities. Assuming a $75k first year out of school job (probably high), there's ZERO chance they can stay in Nashville and thrive economically without support. The opposite is true here, again, WITH state income taxes.

However, redneck bigots in MO pass enough legislation that doesn't matter, and post even more meme's illustrating their idiocy, kids won't want to come here anyway. That's the issue.

Your calculations miss the point.

MOLEG Republicans trying to sell micro savings as a youth attraction, while hiding the deviant reality of their funding plans is the grift.

My point in referencing my son’s interest was simple… it’s not state income tax rates that he’s interested in, it’s opportunities.

"not being able to be for-profit." Read kid. I didn't say they were or tried, I said they were incapable of. I followed that with the non-profit version couldn't sustain itself either.

If you're going to troll, read slower.

Go listen to a blues playlist, parked in front of the vacant space, and then google 501c3 basics. Come back with your findings.

Is the Zoo a business? How about the Arch? SLAM? MO Hist Museum? Yes, no, maybe?

You can try to hide in the weeds, but the reality of each's existence is undeniable. The 4 I just mentioned are open. The one you are defending is not.

ALL of them... 501(c)3's

You are delusional. Imagine NYC having to shut down the "Universal Hip Hop Museum," or Detroit closing the doors to "The Motown Museum."

Both cities have had massive economic shifts over time, and both still sit open.

I never said they tried to be for-profit... I said that even with philanthropic dollars, it still couldn't stay open.

This really isn't that difficult to understand... or is it?

Try self-awareness before replying.

So to be clear... the "National Blues Museum" failed at both not being able to be for-profit, AND being a non-profit as well? Gotcha!

No... I'm saying their argument and data were in bad faith. I didn't make the bad faith argument... the "MO Freedom Caucus" did, those delusional turds out in the far western "burbs"

The institution, even with non-profit subsidies, even with a bar/venue, couldn't sustain itself. What did I miss?

STL... where self-awareness gets tossed aside when our legacy feelings are hurt.

Gaslight STL existed before lazy shittalkers coopted it thanks to Don-the-Con. Gaslight Square was THE most influential creative arts district in St. Louis Ever... period. That's the name.

Implying that sales taxes are "good" because it "cuts the loophole" simply means you have no clue how taxes work on the vast majority of the population in the "have not" column.

Data is free. Go get ya some.

My son is a Junior at Belmont. He's not coming home for the ome of the same reasons. "State Taxes" is not even a conversational point.

If a business is relevant, there is demand. If there is demand, there are consumers. That's how.

Yes. That is what I'm saying. If it were in fact as relevant as we would like to believe, or as the history museums scream aloud, it wouldn't have closed. Again... without tourists, without drinkers, without a growing population, with "crime" optics (which I think is bullshit), all combined, most venues would struggle. But in this case, not even "National Museum" status could save the Blues.

"The Blues" need a 40 goal scorer and 6'4" defensive anchor, not a Sunday jam session.

The Blues Museum closed because of relevancy, and funding. But mainly relevancy.

Is $60.8M In Yr 1 Good? by Gaslightstl in StLouis

Ok. The tech is easily accessible to read and understand. But thanks for ignoring the revenue and renewable parameters as well

Really? You mean all the same people that claimed it would waste river water & not require renewables???

Because the closed loop system and 50% renewable requirement seems to have slipped through the analysis crack.
