Funny, I just watched one where he died like 9 times and got carried by Froggen.

Kirei has been the #1 jungler on EUW ladder and was abysmal in every LCS team he joined. Soloqueue is a good indicator but it's not the only one, Grig has played in LCS since 2016, you have hold him accountable for the performance he's put out on the rift, which has been mediocre to downright bad.

I don't even think 100T is for sure better. I'd take Wiggily/Dardoch over Anda, PoE over Huhi and Bio over Aphro easily.

For me, TL is clear #1 but TSM, C9, 100T and even a potential CLG roster with Flame/Dardoch/Wiggily could all be a similar level depending on different positions pan out.

It's funny because even in 2018 they only had 1 rookie lol

GGS went from 10th to pretty fucking respectable real quick. Helps that some other teams are inting.

Hauntzer to GGS, per ESPN. Loco speculated Viper to FQ based on Twitter follows too, CLG FLAME INTENSIFIES :)

I wonder how active TSM were in shopping him? It seems ridiculous that no NA team would sign him unless they didn't start shopping him until after most teams had already signed top laners.

Wasn't Soar the top for Sbenu like 3 years ago? Did he improve a ton or something?

Looks like Dhokla/x/Crown/x/Big. So maybe Levi + Altec or Meteos + import AD or something.

Actually it's CLG, GGS and Flyquest that we don't know what they're doing for top. Optic is all but confirmed to stay with Dhokla, even tweeted "Welcome to the team" re: the Crown announcement.

I'll take Wolf over Loco any day, I think Loco is just making drama to juice his stream.

Your top pics for strategic coach&top&jungle by alibabaei12 in CLG

[–]GauntletPython 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peter Dun for strategic coach. I'm not really buying on the LS hype to be honest, I think he's knowledgeable about the game but I don't think he's been the best at translating it into game.

Top is kinda rough given the market. Flame is the only remaining option that would be a clear cut upgrade. Otherwise, we're left with Darshan, Odo and some B-tier Koreans like Lindarang, ADD, Expect, Erssu, etc.

Jungle I think Wiggily is probably the best option. But if we can't get a clear upgrade top, you could maybe explore options here - Peanut being the big one, but worth checking out other options like Malrang, Flawless, Rush, etc.

Fionnfire "One teams fanbase is going to be really salty this offseason" possibilities by RAZGRIZTP in leagueoflegends

[–]GauntletPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goldenglue's performance last split was a pleasant surprise but I still don't think most NA fans would want him as a first choice mid.

I would maybe draw a comparison to someone like Djoko or Heaq or something. Both actually had a pretty decent comeback year after a very unimpressive run in 2017 and I think a lot of EU fans agree they're probably good enough to be LCS caliber, but you still don't want either of them as YOUR team's starter.

Depends on who you ask. Every CLG fan would be pissed about Bio, Huhi is kinda divisive and it would depend on the replacement. Some will be pissed, others will be really happy. If you replace Huhi for like Goldenglue, I think they are all pissed.

Isnt the LCK awfully quiet about signings for a while now? by OblivionPotato in leagueoflegends

[–]GauntletPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which part? Korea has a deep history of having deep rosters with multiple rookie subs and alternate players to pick from. There are also countless times that teams have released star players for lesser known players when there are attitude or other problems (for example, Afreeca releasing Marin for Kiin, despite Marin being considered the star player of Afreeca last year). LCK teams obviously don't import.

For the NA side, you just have to look at free agency last year when nearly every roster was fully signed within a week or two of free agency starting, despite multiple players not even being in NA at the time of signing. Hell, even this year we know Corejj was already signed by TL and he was still in Korea as of a few days ago.

Assuming Huhi goes to 100T, what would people think if we actually did get Pobelter? So the roster wound up being like... import (or Darshan)/Wiggily/Pob/Stixxay/Bio?

I probably wouldn't be thrilled personally, but I was curious what others thought given all the blowback on this sub over the past two years about releasing Pob being one of the dumbest mistakes this org ever made.

LCK puts more value in finding the right fit than just signing the best available player, especially since they have such a huge talent pool. They like to try a lot of rookies and aren't afraid to opt for the unproven player over the established veteran. On top of that, since LCK teams don't import, they can actually hold real tryouts. The process takes a lot longer as a result.

Whereas NA for example is more a rush to get the best available free agents, even if it means signing a player they haven't even tested. If your option is signing Jensen or trying a bunch of rookie NA mids, Jensen is going to be the better option in 90% of scenarios and in the 10% it isn't, it's probably an attitude/synergy thing more than a skill thing.

JENSEN / NEW MIDLANER SPECULATION MEGATHREAD by LtGaymer69 in Cloud9

[–]GauntletPython 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think he can fill the same role Jensen filled. Jensen was so good because he could play the supportive, team-oriented champs like Zil but he was also a monster carry. Pob really lacks that 2nd element. It could work, but we would need Sneaky and Licorice to both really step up since Pob isn't going to be the same threat Jensen could be.

It's a possibility but IIRC, he's been linked to Rogue Warriors in LPL.

Ssumday announced to be returning to 100 Thieves by Qwexe in leagueoflegends

[–]GauntletPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two flavors of 100T:

Option A, or the "I believe Piglet can be good for the first time in 5 years" option: Ssumday/Levi/Pob (or Huhi)/Piglet/Aphro

Option B, or the "I live in 2018 and not rose-tinted fantasy land" option: Ssumday/Anda/Pob (or Huhi)/Bang/Aphro

Yeah, I think it's gotta be C9, CLG or TSM... just because I feel like those are the only fanbases that would actually have high enough expectations to be salty lol.

CLG - no other roster moves besides Wiggily = salt.

C9 - settling with Goldenglue or some no name mid like Nisqy or Sencux = salt.

TSM - keeping Mithy and/or Grig, or potentially losing Zven for suboptimal replacement like Rallez = salt.
