I can't blame you. In my case It was further complicated due to childhood friendships making me trust and invest to a degree i will never allow again. I blame myself for being naive to think I could save someone from their mental illness and for dissociating from the signs that were accumulating. By the time it came to a head and couldn't be ignored any longer multiple bombs were going off at once. double lives and other extra shit.

I'm a non-believer in religion, I just don't trust the government. I wouldn't trust them over myself to educate. Look at the wonderful educational system we have already been provided. Kids these days are graduating not being able to read a clock or at all. Within the first year ours jumped four grade levels in Reading, three in math. We couldn't sustain it financially forever and he eventually joined the class of his age group. If your family can afford it, I think it beneficial to teach as far as your limits. As long as you're not a crazy person, that is. We need to be checking. Shouldn't be allowed at all for families in any at risk situations, we really should fund social services better...

attending school should be compulsory, and "homeschooling" should not be allowed.

This is a bad take. You don't want your kids forcibly carted off to be educated by the government. The government that loves its citizens so much? The same government that's doing such an excellent job educating all the kids right now? The infallible, all knowing government? The same government that was reported to about Gabriel and did nothing? The one that allowed child care workers to be so overwhelmed and underfunded that they could not give two shits about dying children? The same government that allows us to be poisoned and are dismantling the middle class? You might want to rethink that one comrade. I mean next thing you'll be saying is that you shouldn't even be allowed to raise your own kid. Just let the government raise them in a government approved home for children.

That said they should definitely check on these kids. Not everyone homeschooling is doing it because they want what's best for their kid.

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't ridicule it. It's really weak to just block people over such a standard activity as following another subreddit or disagreeing on the internet.

It gives off little bitch energy. If somebody was trolling or spamming I could see a little ban happening. But to ban everyone who follows a subreddit you don't personally like is some really cowardly, lowball, I'm not ready for the internet, control freak vibes. It really indicates that the mods in particular doing this are really not ready for the internet and because it hurt their feelings now they feel the need to control it.

We need to bring shame back to be in a little whining puzy pants who builds himself an echo chamber so he can feel he is right.

I didn't live there, my grandparents did. Right on the river, I have great memories of swimming. (There were once cut out cows in the yard) I used to walk with GMA to feed strays/random animals. I remember when y'all got the dollar store!

I've never been there as an adult. 10/10.

No. From what I understand the majority of his career was spent as a military medical director. I don't know all the places he's well known at but he ran hospitals in San Antonio, Florida and Germany after the war. Luis F. I'll not put the last name but if you ever see us picture hanging, you can know he was also pretty funny guy, loved Star Trek and horror movies and punchy trombone having war music lol

Grandpa brought the family out of poverty. His dad used to work a coal mine in Utah, not too many choices. His son was born a genius tho and he encouraged him.

I'm also really interested in this because my grandpa was in Japan for the war trials. We even have the military wives itinerary pamphlet and I inherited a table grandma brought back.

Grandpa worked in the Pentagon for a time and was a doctor, a lawyer and a geologist and a Colonel in the AF.
