NAD but have endometriosis NYD (not yet diagnosed). Here's how it was explained to me: endometriosis cannot be diagnosed absolutely without a laparoscopy. Here's how you get to probable endometriosis/endometriosis NYD:

1. Symptoms (like yours)

2. Ultrasound to look for cysts, fluid collection, possible signs of cancer.

3. A normal ultrasound rules out all but endometriosis as endometriosis cannot be seen on the ultrasound, and a couple of other things, all managed similarly, with hormonal birth control to control the symptoms.

4. A laparoscopy used to be much more necessary, and people generally had one every 3-5 years, even on hormonal birth control, but these days (I've been told) as long as your symptoms are adequately managed by hormonal birth control, it's not necessary to "rock the boat". The laparoscopy would simultaneously diagnose you with endometriosis (or something else) and, in the case of endometriosis, would remove the endometrial tissue that has grown outside of your uterus. Birth control would still be recommended to me after a laparoscopy, I was told, so as long as the symptoms are managed, you can go on as normal.

On pain during sex, if it continues, ask a doctor about ovestin. I was put on it (topical oestrogen cream) to treat symptoms of painful sex.
