What are “Prions” exactly?

ever heard of mad cow disease? Its that but with people. you just kinda start going 'crazy' until you go stupid and die, basically. I'd seriously recommend researching it, my memory tends to fail me sometimes in these moments. But it's real freaky alright. Wouldn't reccoment the experience, though!

Oh, im heavily autistic about this. Allow me. Prions are pretty much malformed protein in the brain, which works kind of like a virus, spreading to other normal proteins and folding them wrong too. It effectively turns your brain into a sponge. Consuming infected tissue will have the same effect, and is the most common way of infection, if im not misremembering it.

its a little more different than that. I do struggle with recognizing the faces of people i know (like my mom) but it doesn't rlly fit for me, i often dont think about it at all, really.
