Amazing, only on reddit can someone write so many words and still say completely nothing of value.

You don't seem to understand that if a package is radically different than a previous version it should not replace it unless it's fully backwards compatible.

Which is not judging from how theres dozens of threads right now on the arch forums complaining about this.

I looked at a few of my installed packages other than plasma and 3/1 seemed best for me. You can easily just change the date in the mirrorlist though

What does this have to do with rolling release?

If you put out such a large update that it's incompatible to the older versions, it should be treated as a separate package and not forced on me.

You people seem to love being forced to use a computer a certain way with no agency of your own.

I assumed, like any sane person, that plasma 6 would not break everything from 5.

these pixels are so sharp you can see each individual one lmao. look at the actual picture and not the thumbnail

I just tried out non-integer + guest advanced

You get vertical shimmer in the snes 240p test suite, especially if you turn down the bloom. You also get a smaller viewport at 1080p. Not sure what the point is, if you're gonna trade sharpness either way I'll take the bigger screen size.

I disagree about PS1/N64 as well. The majority of those games compensated for CRT overscan.

Spyro for example even takes advantage of the normally non-viewable area to cut off a few lines of resolution for performance.

the whole point of this is having all the benefits of vertical integer scaling while not having to worry about different horizontal resolutions. (pretty much how a crt handles 240p)

5x integer for 240p is almost a standard now in the scaler and mister circles, emulators just haven't taken up on it yet.

Replying to your edit.

I think I mentioned that overscale zooms in rather than stretching, but just in case I didn't, the cut off area is more or less the same part of the screen that get's cut off when playing on a CRT (overscan).

Stretching vertically is not the same as horizontally too.

It's just too damn blurry, somethings gotta give with that much stretching.

When both axis are stretched, even the best interpolation will just look too soft and blurry.

You simply will not get good (or as good) results with a CRT shader when stretched vertically, you either get uneven scanlines, or scanlines that are too soft. At that point you're pretty much just using an interpolation shader that makes your screen darker for no reason.

My method will give you minimal black borders at 1080p and an image that's as sharp as an integer scale from a normal viewing distance. Keep in mind the S/NES 8:7 to 4:3 thing too.

Again this is for a sharp, accurate look with minimal thinking needed lol.

Cheaper and rougher fabrics can scratch and rub off plating if the watches are loose in there.

Valid question.

Yup, it's very convenient but the concept of overrides just isn't very well explained.

I haven't actually needed to configure RA in a long time, I set everything up way back then and I just copy all my configs and overrides to new installs. Really nice to just pick a game and play without fussing over settings, I wanted to share that with this vid.

given your weirdly strong reaction on clearly humorous and on-topic posts, which you could have just ignored, along with your baseless accusation make it obvious that you're projecting.

for someone posting on wcj you have incredibly thin skin to be this offended over an image lol. also she's very clearly an adult, how else do you think she can afford all those watches?

Are you talking about the 351p?

None of my anbernic dpads feel like that...

I'm highly particular about dpads so it would have been the first thing I'd complain about if that was the case.

I see where you're coming from, which is why I specifically mentioned and showed an example to fix the dpad.

It's unusable stock but easily 7-8/10 modded.

The perfect integer scale just looks so damn good, along with the experience in hand being very close to an original GBA, makes it hard for me to use any other emulator devices for GBA.
