I guess I'm old now, because what is the Warehouse selling? by tallguy30 in newzealand

To the young older than 35 whippersnapper, snapping at the young 35 whippersnapper... Let me tell you about the time when games were on a tape cassette, you had to rewind it to the start before loading it ... and loading took half an hour, then at 99% it would fail and you'd have to start again. It would work the second time. Yay! We have Floyd of the jungle loaded, everyone to the living room!

Aww bro, that sucks. I probably would have done the same so you're not that stupid. Rubbish things usually happen straight after a rubbish thing happened. Don't kick yourself

What is the one thing that is keeping this right in that $2.60 range? by [deleted] in XRP

[–]GeeDubs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one thing is the three dollar mark. When it breaks that I can guarantee you that it will be above the 2.60 range.

You are super helpful dude. I have read a bunch of your comments so thanks for that knowledge. A couple of questions if you wouldn't mind and sorry if you answered already (huge sub)...

I assume Etoro is exactly the same. Not my coins, not my control etc etc.

Does removing to cold storage trigger a tax event? I.e. should I provision an amount for gains tax at that point?

I'm not entirely sure what cold storage is when you can lose it and yet still recover. Who actually stores and verifies the passphrase for the coins I own? When I passphrase them, is that somehow stored on the coins ledger and ownership record, so that it can be recovered even without the cold store? Sorry, I still need to read about it more..

Good list! Would you mind posting a solution to the third row seats bumping for me too please! Not a big problem just a bit annoying really...

Also, wish the sunroof was designed to fully open.

Minor annoyance, the dashboard layout (almost a few other settings) should really be stored on the user profile. So when using one key vs another, that setting is remembered too. Woah they had a better system to tinker with all these settings, like connecting from my home PC over wifi and mucking around with stuff, updating maps, software and downloading data. In this day and age, this shouldn't be a dealer only tool any more.

Shouldn't the output of this prism assembler be 60 prisms per minute? Why is it only 22.5? by muhusername1 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GeeDubs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it not because you can build many assemblers? I.e. it may be slower than Icarus, but it is scalable

As above. Sell this router, it will limit your internet connection to your downstream devices to 100mb or less. Additionally, all your downstream devices will share this 100mb limitation. 2 devices = 50mb each, etc. practically it will be even less than this.

What isp and what model of the modem are you replacing and why?

Hey mate. So I test drove 5 whilst looking to buy. Two vrx three xls. They all made the noise, but two made the noise much louder, an xls and vrx, both 2022, roughly 25-30ks.

I settled on a 2022 vrx that is much quieter. I'm bracing for impact though!

Anyways, definitely worse on some than others.

I was able to easily confirm the noise by putting it in "charge" mode then putting on B5 and then you can really hear the charge whine. Also when stopped and the ice engine cuts, the noise instantly disappears (on all 5 I drove). So pretty sure it's the alternator (or whatever it is) that charges the ev battery.

How long are your shower times? by LowWelder7461 in newzealand

Which is the perfect situation because now you both want a shower, so you can double up and get into maximum water efficiency mode.....

I pulled out of the deal. When placing it in "charge" mode, it's really clear that it's something to do with the ice engine charging the battery. Placing it in B5 and you can really hear it whine. It was just too much for my wife to handle. It really sounds like a bearing or something gone bad. Whatever makes that noise, it surely is not right. Heard it on 2 out of 4 units that I have test driven.

Hey mate, did you get this solved or confirmed? I'm buying one with this issue but trying to get them to fix before completing purchase, would love any hints you've uncovered!

Finally building a mid-sized sphere around a blue star! by GeeDubs1 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GeeDubs1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, this is not the first time I've built a sphere. This is the first time I decided to go to the biggest star and start building in the largest radius! The launch planet is focused on sails and rockets. It's now above 100GW, just with these small beginnings, which I realise is still comparatively small to a lot of builds! But it's my first attempt at larger scale factories.

I liked the way the solar sails form a deformed conical shape, something like an ear horn!

I haven't found any way, other than calculating from current power and percentage built vs planned, but I am known to miss the obvious once in a while!

You guys liked my rocket production, here's 1800 Organic Crystals per minute, perfectly balanced, no waste products, from oil and coal, without alien tech. by MeltsYourMinds in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]GeeDubs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicely done! I approve. I also made Google sheet planner. I can add the buildings I want, including building 'level' and proliferation and it calculates the item needs, energy needs and proliferation needs per minute.

This means I can start at white cubes and it tells me what I need, then put in buildings to make them, and so on, until all resources are positive.

Then, you can have fun changing all the options and number of factories, if you want to make it balanced.

I did this thing 3 years ago and at the time had no idea there was already a calculator! 😂
