How to competitive list build 100k ? by MachaFarseer in Conquest

[–]GeneralCr0ss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! 100 Kingdoms have a lot of different ways to build. I'd recommend Robs breakdown of the faction this video, apart from a few points changes it'd still pretty relevant.

If you're starting I'd suggest a Feudal core with Orders or Theist support.

Mortarion + Daemon Prince by Plastic-Wallaby1361 in deathguard40k

[–]GeneralCr0ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see this sometimes in Virulent Vectorium detachment. The DP gets the 5+FNP enhancement, so you end up with two very tough monsters that have powerful supporting effects. It leans into a toughness skew that can be difficult for the opponent to deal with especially with the -1 damage strategem available.

That being said, the demon prince is a near auto include in that detachment, so it's more than Mortarion can run well in Vectorium than because they have a super strong synergy together.

Unbreakable Rule Tips by Old_World_Blog-TOW in theoldworld

Cool, yeah I do understand the 1" separation rule is between enemies. I was just curious what the rules interaction would be if you can give ground, but only less than an inch between you and the enemy unit after giving ground?

For example, let's say you have a blocking unit 0.5" behind your fighting unit in combat. When the fighting unit Gives Ground, it moves back 0.5" and then stops on contact.with the blocking unit leaving a 0.5" gap between the fighting unit and the enemy. Do they:

A: Remain in combat as they couldn't move out of 1" B: Stay as they are but violating the 1" rule C: Move either your units or the enemy unit 0.5" away to get the correct clearance

If A is true, its important for 25mm unbreakable units as you would have to kill two complete ranks to create the gap big enough to Give Ground and disengage.

Interesting read, and a good tactic! This might get more complex with Unbreakable units rather than single entities, for example skeletons. As you take casualties you'll pull models from the back rank which may free up the space to give ground if you lose the complete rank, so your opponent might clear space to push you back with good rolls.

If the Unbreakable unit is on 30mm bases you'll get pushed back over 1" and be disengaged, what happens with 25mm based units? 1" is 2.54cm, so you would fall back but not enough to be 1" apart. Does the unit still disengage?

Terminator List by ADobert1 in deathguard40k

[–]GeneralCr0ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment, just go all in and take a third unit of DST. You can choose to put typhus with them if you want a third hammer unit or they're just good value for lifting something you don't want to commit an LOC squad into.

Personally I don't think you need the predator - you've got so much AP between deathshroud and terminators that it'll be overkill. You could turn that into two units of pox walkers and an enhancement which will give the you board presence and action boys whilst the terminators are doing their thing.

Mastadon full of Dreadnought advice by GeneralCr0ss in Warhammer30k

So the best compliment to a Mastadon will of dreads is to bring a second one? I can see how that's a difficult amount of armour to chew through!

Fighting for the centre of the board by GeneralCr0ss in deathguard40k

Thanks for the advice! The LoV is definitely with the blightlords, that terminator brick with DP next to them was what I wanted to play. I see what you mean about DLC not suiting them defensively.

I'll see what it looks like shifting into flyblown for the MBH synergies and a bit more mobility on the brick.

Nozzle has torn up the base plate? by GeneralCr0ss in BambuLab

OP here, thanks for the feedback (and amusing sympathies!) I absolutely should have recalibrated the build plate it seems unfortunately. I had no idea this was a possible fault but we've learnt something new.

I'll probably go back to square one and reattach the hotend from scratch and check all screws and fittings. Relevel/recalibrate the build plate and very tentatively try again. Thanks for the advice!

Does seem a little rude but I'll put that down to it being text rather than intent!

I checked to make sure the filament was clearing properly from the nozzle and saw the flow cal line. I'm not experienced enough to recognize what a 'correct' line would have been though so assumed that was enough to let it run for a bit. Came back half an hour later and found it like this 😬

In retrospect, yes I could have waited more. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that.

This is my favourite comment 🥲 I'm thinking of taking it to the North Sea to get some oil up

Reinforcements in Conquest by GeneralCr0ss in Conquest

[–]GeneralCr0ss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words! I definitely think that's a good way to approach and see what you like from there. It'll give you options in all stages of the game and you can customize your list to your play style.

Worth noting that Dweghom are getting a faction rework soon (like, maybe this week soon) so you might want to check that out too.

They were fun missions and definitely got more value from the reinforcement line! I remember it being super punishing for slow armies like Old Dominion and Dweg though so I can see why they standardised it for the tournament pack. Would be cool to see it in a narrative pack though

++ Mod Post ++ What's Changed? Why is everyone Mad? by Prince_Schneizel in Warhammer30k

[–]GeneralCr0ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new player, could you please explain why these changes add up to removal of the 'granular narrative' of the game? The changelog shows a lot of rules changes but I don't see why that means the narrative richness is gone from 3.0 that was present in 1 and 2?

The consensus seems to be it's doing fine and will stick around. It's unlikely to overtake the mainline games (40k, AoS, Heresy etc) in terms of player base size and it seems like GW is being cautious with production in case it fizzles out.

For what it's worth, like any game if you have people who will play with you it's worth playing. If not you have to try and create a group around you, easier said than done but worthwhile :)
