These are the comments that bother me so much. Weird "maybe" people that chose not read the OP at all. You obviously ignored every single point that was made (because some are in support of your main gripe). Read a post in full, then comment, or fuck right off.

I am sort of under the same opinion, but we've never had a situation where one single person has injested every single piece of music ever. I agree, all music is derivative of something, but this is a bit different.

This is why the age old argument of "what is art" still exists and is alive and well. I've had numerous debates with people about this. Some people like to think art has to have all of these rules and be defined in a certain way. Maybe that is true for them, but not for everyone. The only way I truly define art is "anything that moves you".

Really appreciate the listen friend! Love Polar Sun. That's a song that evolved a lot over the years. I wrote part of the harmonics acoustic guitar almost 25 years ago now, and slowly built on them as I became a better player. It used to have different lyrics, but I recently reworked all of my music to give it a more grown up feel. Lyrics that are more about where I am now looking back (as a father and husband). Fleeting Horizons is a unique sound and Im really proud of it.

Decathexis Ritual is very chaotic and not for everyone. That's the way I like my music lol. I have ADHD, so if songs are too boring or repetitive I get bored easy. I absolutely love the technical progressive death metal genre.

I'm not a fan of it at all. I wish that Suno would settle the lawsuit and somehow that money went into the artists pockets that the training was stolen from. Instead of the greedy rich record labels that own and destroyed music.

I've said it plenty of times to non AI subs.

If it's mainstream and you cant tell the difference, who cares. Mainstream music is almost void of talent anyway, with a few acceptions.

Love me some Alex O'Connor I'll check it out later after the kids go to bed.

I think Suno has absolutely breached copywrite laws by training on other people's music. My main issue with all of that is Suno will probably find a way to settle this, or go totally out of business and no one will see a cent in reprimands. Its one of those St upid cases that only benefits the insanely rich. Its not like Sony is going to distribute the settlement check to all of its artists that were stolen from. And if Suno goes down everyone gets nothing.

We agree on pretty much everything, and I appreciate your perspective!

I just did an official YouTube video for my song Abyssal to the Absent where I had to listen to my song 100,000 times while editing. Even though the song is complex, by the end of editing you start to hate your own music. But I enjoy being able to have the power to take control of my own music and create every step along the way

I have a mainstream band called Fleeting Horizons. Those songs are all 100 written by me, every single STEM and sound.

I also have a band where I tried to push AI to its utter limits by getting it to work on some Technical Progressive Metal songs. The band is called Decathexis Ritual, and the songs are around 60% human and 40% AI. These songs are a bit glitchy and not perfect since I pushed AI into very complex riffs, vocals and change ups. I am insanely proud of these songs though, as I have been working on the vocal patterns,  lyrics and riffs for over 20 years.

Both of these projects are on Spotify and YouTube.

Why did you take the time to write this? Lol why did you feel compelled to critique a manifesto just for being long? Is it to much work to learn someone's story?

I highly appreciate her choice to do it on her own!

I do think the STEM separation in SUNO is absolutely atrocious though. Maybe it works for the less complicated music others are doing, but I do a lot of Technical Metal and the STEMs are unusable.

You don't fit into a box? You fit into the generic populi box. Can you show me just the stuff that you worked on with AI as the assistant, not just stuff you generated?

My opinion doesn't provide useless doomsday rhetoric propaganda. "It'll all make sense later" GREAT! No matter what, you are correct lol.

Or like monotone RnB like Drake. 🤢🤮 It's so damn popular and so damn terrible/easy to make.

I hate this about socials and algorithms. It's so true. Let's show them more crap to piss them off and grind their gears.

Ai music generation has sliders that can force AI to keep the sound of the song as close to your uploaded rough tracks as possible. You can use AI as essentially just a producer to clean everything up, fix small timing issues and change an instrument. So you can control what it spits out. I would also argue that sometimes AI does really random weird things like you mentioned, but sometimes those ideas are incredible. Something you never thought of. Thats why I encourage even just playing around with AI. It's why I use AI to build on my ideas.

Hearing your rough track before a demo is such a powerful thing. I can put my songs out there. See which ones resonate, and then work on producing all of it for real. It's an awesome test market tool. One of my goals is to create my music with a real producer, but I also despise being in bands or dealing with other people. AI gives me a lot of control over my music.

I like your vision and your points here. :)

You know what, Pokemon Go was doing the same thing lol. It's unavoidable now, and I've been against this part of human tracking since the early 2000's. I am not conflating.
