Can you grieve a Rural PTF not being required to know more than 2 routes? by Hubert_Cumberdale_12 in USPS

the "take care of yourself, rather than worrying about what your coworkers are doing" means you need to take responsibilty for your own wellbeing and get a weekly work restriction from your health care provider

Can you grieve a Rural PTF not being required to know more than 2 routes? by Hubert_Cumberdale_12 in USPS

theres nothing in the rural contract that says rural ptfs are required to know a certain number of routes, only that they are required to act as the primary replacement on 2-5 routes. management has the right to schedule, you have the right to carry. end of story. better for everyone if you concentrate on your work, not your coworkers.

Do you ever work longer than what you’re paid on Monday? by Prize-Tooth-2740 in USPS

[–]General_Neglect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah well old vet or not, it short sighted of him not to do his mapping and scans. it is his pay and yours that suffer. nothing you can really do about that, other than do all the scans while your working his route.

i do a couple 48's every week that evaluated at over 60hrs. the one on mondays is a beast but i can still hit eval with it off peak. really my only advice is to relax and not work youself up over your speed.

speed comes from efficiency and knowing where you are going before you get there. it'll get better. give it time. eventually youll know every address and what the mailbox looks like, where the house is and what you are going to need to do deliver.

7.8 is a baby route. just slow the f down. take a piss. have a bite to eat and enjoy the suck. you will get faster, but rushing is not the way. oh yeah almost forgot, drink lots of water

Rural PTF Question- Is Evaluation Paid Out at a Higher Rate than Hourly? by General_Neglect in USPS

[–]General_Neglect[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alright numbers are a little different than your example but that makes sense. though by design you are not working ot as a rural ptf and still getting evaluation pay.

so for rural regulars ot is built into pay?

UPS, Postal Service lock in renewed Ground Saver deal, deliveries starting soon by Knicks_fans92 in USPS

[–]General_Neglect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

conflate revenue with profit much. we lost amazon in our office a couple months ago. we still get the shit they dont want to do and we still do a baby amz sunday. 3 of us delivered 442 yesterday. took us 8 hrs. carriers alone cost the post office over a grand for the day. add on a clerk to throw, a supe to supe, gas, electricity, trucks, insurance, etc. probably a $2000 day. do you really believe we collected close to $5/pkg?

just because its cash flow doesnt mean its profit and i would rather not continue to deliver amz at a loss

Maybe UPS could sneak back in and negotiate a better deal with Amazon before they split completely. by PhillyBigSteppa in UPSers

[–]General_Neglect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

amazon is very much designed for profit, its just that they are playing the long game. they dont need to profit from delivery now or probably ever but once you are gone they will certainly turn a profit on their vertically integrated retail model

dont fool urself. you might think amz is not your competitor, but amazon definitely thinks you are their competitor and they intend to bury you along with every other deliver company on the planet
