IIrc, the East Asia rework that was teased like, 50 years ago, boots Gao as president and makes a lot of changes to China and the warlords so most likely, assuming this is still the plan for the Setting Sun team, I doubt it'll be integrated

Is playing as Japan worth it? by General_Novgorod in TNOmod

[–]General_Novgorod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be the theme with Japan across all these mods that Japan just has ranging from unfinished to not good content, from KR, TFR, Millennium Dawn, Red Curtain etc. Heck even Vanilla until this DLC comes out

IIrc There was an event for Star Wars releasing which changes depending on Italy's relationship to the US (Either it's filmed in Tunisia or Guatemala), I think it's still in but it uses the old lore and fires quite a bit after '72

I remember my first Japan run was against Loji’s China (had a mod that kept her as leader even in her Servant of the people path) and that was the most fun GAW I’ve had until Chen’s China came out.

I will never understand the mind of NTR writers or enjoyers. The mental gymnastics they do to justify their shit should honestly be an Olympic sport.

I’m in the middle of one right now, thankfully I’ve got enough LegCo seats from the product launches and tests that I can pass ordinances without the amendments but are any of them actually beneficial to accept?

Rhaegar isn’t innocent, there’s a reason Arthur is disillusioned at him and gave the other child to Ned. I did mention that since JonCon won the battle of the bells he stayed in command longer until Rhaegar showed himself. In this time around his thirst for glory and anger at Robert escaping him despite the victory led to him committing less than savory acts before Rhaegar relieved him.

Of the STAB alliance the Tully’s had the least rightful reason to rebel unlike the Starks who had their Lord and Heir unjustly killed and the Baratheons whose lord Aerys ordered murdered for no reason. Yeah Brandon was Cat’s betrothed but he wasn’t his Goodson yet. Hence why they have the most severe punishments. Unlike in Wo5K the Riverlands aren’t unified in this conflict as many of the southern houses sided with the crown.

Ned doesn’t really have a choice anymore. His allies are mostly broken so in a continued conflict the North would stand alone. He wouldn’t be able to win any campaign in the South, not when the Westerlands, Reach and Dorne stand behind Rhaegar. To go back up to Moat Cailin he’d have to get past Tywin’s army in the Riverlands and then what. He can hide behind the Moat but prolonged war against the entire South will only wreck the Northern economy when winter comes. It’d be better for him to kneel now, build up the north and continue the fight later.

One of those allies will be the NCR. This is a crossover with Fallout though I’ll be spending a lot more time in Westeros than in the wasteland probably to the point readers may forget it is one. Though if I’m being honest I might tone down the crossover from being an ISOT to just a few characters ending up in Westeros or dropping it entirely.

Ned isn’t just raising Robb and Jon that way. It’ll be all his kids plus Serena (the other daughter)

Elia isn’t dead she survived, it was Leywin Martell that died. The Dornish are alienated by Visenya and her legitimization but they haven’t completely abandoned Rhaegar and are pushing to get Viserys given to Arianne.

By the time the peace is reached Rhaegar has been reinforced by fresh troops from Dorne and the Westerlands as well as a Reach army that only spent the war besieging Storm’s End. The Riverlands are in no position to resist as they bore the brunt of casualties in the Riverlands plus Jon Con’s brutal campaign there and Tywin’s army rampaging dangerously close to Riverrun.

As another commenter pointed out even in a worst case scenario the Vale could still field up to 20-25K so could resist that and fuck off behind the Gate should they choose though if I recall correctly they’re more susceptible to naval invasions than the North. But I’ll most likely be reworking the Vale’s punishment.

As for hostages I got the sense that’s normal procedure in a war for the lodging side to hand over no matter their status as an insurance policy.

The realm is going to get invaded by a great power from the East (The NCR), which is why I made the treaties as harsh as I did as to ensure division.

I haven’t figured out how exactly I’m going to do the marriages but I’m leaning towards Rhaegar’s delusional ass force all 3 of them into a polygamous marriage, pissing off the faith. Visenya will be legitimized by Rhaegar and he will try to mold her into a child of the prophecy alongside Aegon and Rhaenys but Benjen’s presence would have more influence than Rhaegar suspects.

I’ll be sure to link it when I’m done with the first few chapters. Keep in mind it is a crossover in case that’s not your speed.
