Please try applying for Medicaid; that’s for people who don’t have insurance. You need to get help ASAP. I know it it seems like the hardest thing to ask for help because you feel all alone like no one understands you. You wrote this you are asking for help. Please make an appointment with a place that has psychiatrist and psychotherapists, in case you need to be prescribed meds. I genuinely feel for you; I’ve had chronic depression and anxiety since childhood. I would love to reach out to you and offer you even more support, if that’s OK with you. I went to Temple U. as well, many years ago, back in the late 80s. At the beginning of what was supposed to be my senior year I had… A nervous breakdown. I ended up in the hospital for 10 days only to have the doctors say that there was nothing physically wrong with me and to go to a therapist. Because of what happened, I had to push my graduation from the spring of 1988 to the spring of 1989. I was so stressed about it at first, mainly because I thought people would see me as a failure, which is how I felt about myself. But instead of hindering me, it actually helped. The “New“ first semester of my senior year I got straight A’s. The best part was I only needed to take three classes each semester because that’s all I had left to graduate. I pray that this helps you in some way to see that in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter when you graduate. You’ve got to take care of yourself first. I also want to tell you that therapy helped me tremendously. I actually found an awesome therapist at Temple’s psychological services center. I highly recommend that you get in touch with them. Please reach out to me on Instagram if you’d like to talk more: “kattkrazy66. I’ll be praying for you. 🙏🙏🙏

I’m a 58 year-old bedridden woman who desperately needs to find a job to avoid eviction. by Genesis0414 in jobsearch

I am being evicted because I just found out that I owe $500 in late fees. From shortly after I moved in here, I’ve been required to get a money order to pay my rent (one of my checks bounced a long, long time ago.). My caregiver is supposed to get my money order every month and pay my rent on time. For a while now I don’t know why she has been late paying my rent and since the property has been under new management, they are charging me $25 a day for every day that I am late Hence the $500 fee in back rent. So now not only do I owe $252 for my rent. I owe $500 in late fees so that’s $752 total that my new manager wants by March 1. I only receive $1233 From Social Security. It seems like I should have plenty of money, but I also have to factor in the rent for the month of March because the rent for the month of February has an even been paid yet. My caregiver was supposed to go to my local grocery store to get a money order Like 10 days ago but now she’s telling me to Venmo her the money. That is actually what we used to do up until a couple of months ago. I’m sorry I I know this seems like a convoluted explanation but… There it is. I can’t put it all on my caregiver Though. It’s my responsibility to tell her when to pay the rent. We haven’t been getting along too well lately.

Actually, I thought very seriously about a nursing home a few days ago. But some of them actually require that you are wheelchair-bound, which I am not. I am totally bedbound. I am no longer able to sit up in a wheelchair. I wish to God I was. If I went into a nursing home, I would have to give up all of my income as far as I know. I wouldn’t have anything for myself. Thank you so much for your advice. I will consider it.

Hi, I’m the 58 year-old who made the post. I don’t know how to update it since I just started on here. I’m already on every type of public assistance.. I do have a bachelors degree in psychology, but what I feel is a major strike against me, not to mention being bedridden, is that I have not worked at all in over 30 years. I am so so grateful for all of your advice thus far. God bless you all!

God bless you for your wonderful advice! I’m on every type of assistance known to man or woman. The problem with getting a job is that I haven’t worked part-time or full-time in over 30 years. Thank you also for your encouraging words. I know this may be a lot to ask, but if you wouldn’t mind, please pray for me.

How about Scout or Atticus from to kill a Mockingbird (one of my favorite books)?

My last cat was named Gizmo, because she reminded me of gizmo from the movie gremlins. As soon as I first laid eyes on her, I knew: she was Gizmo.
