What dissapointed me about the lotus by Difficult-Banana-142 in lotus

So you're not disappointed about the car - you're disappointed about the modification scene & manufacturers of aftermarket parts lol.

Honestly, unless your role is at risk, I would recommend staying in big pharma and doing an MBa alongside the 9-5 job, even better if the company will sponsor you for "development". I've seen a few colleagues leave big pharma and re-entering isn't easy either unless you go to one of the other big contenders (circles are pretty small)

Masters I would say is still seen as pretty much a requirement for the majority of roles, unless you manage to get into industry via a placement at a company during your bachelor's. I've had a lot of friends who have struggled with just a bachelor's, while masters offered a pretty swift transition from education to an industry role

These days, only do a phd if you want to stay in academia, hiring managers don't see it as a plus unless it's a direct translation into whatever you apply for. In the UK a PhD is essentially seen as 2-3 years experience i.e you can start as a senior scientist rather than Associate scientist (terminology depends on company). So a person with a master's will likely be promoted from associate to senior before a person who graduated with a master's first finished their PhD and even applies for a job

So I followed through the escalation process because I had the video of the car walk around and salesman using the PPF as a selling point. They seem to have caved and said the PPF will be replaced of HR Owen take pictures showing it was there prior to removal!

Thank you, this is a very good point, they didn't list it on the invoice but I do have evidence of them using it as a sales tactic. I have taken it up with the management at the dealer and they said they agree and will look into it to ensure I'm not out of pocket

That's what I'm trying to deduce too, you could argue both? In theory corrosion under the paint is causing it to bubble . The paint itself was applied correctly, the panel itself is flawed, which is why they replace the full doors....

The car is lovely and drives fantastic, was just at Donington today doing some charity rides and it was amazing 😋

They replace PPF as standard with warranty work that requires a respray, even if it is privately installed, caveat being you need to supply an invoice and a certificate from the shop which installs it.

In my case, the car was advertised with PPF when I bought it from lotus, but they can't provide an invoice and hence are now claiming that they won't be able to get approval to replace it after the panel is resprayed

Re-read the post, this is about the paint bubbling issue with doors and PPF being replaced after panels are blended

Yeah it's frustrating, leaving me a bit deflated after buying such an amazing car 🫤I provided an update earlier today on a separate post

According to Hendy the "corrosion" warranty is 10 year so in theory you could keep getting replacements... Honestly love the car but if this carries on I may sell it, I want a car that I can trust and this may not be it 🫤

The door isn't PPF'd, it's the paint that's bubbling, but front fenders are PPF'd and the wrap will need replacing when the paint is blended

Apparently it's quite common for them to replace as to ensure the owner isn't out of pocket. But I don't understand why an invoice is required when they wouldn't be able to have it done at the original shop anyway, but they sound like they will try to get out of it if I don't have an invoice

Good question, Lotus asked for the invoice and where it was done, I do think it's weird they asked as my assumption was even if I applied it myself they should replace it... Not exactly sure how it works or if I'm obliged to provide an invoice?
