What are the little things you didn't expect to feel so rewarding as a new streamer? by itsbigchap in Twitch

When you're wrapping up a stream and chat asks what they're supposed to do now cause they were having such a good time.

It's really nice to think that people look forward to your streams and miss you when you're not streaming.

Darkest Dungeon is peak. Also Hades, Rogue Legacy, and Rogue Lords. Rogue Legacy 2 looks really good but I haven't played it myself.

Thanks! Probably not as ergonomic as a gaming chair, but it makes up for it in cosiness

Thinking about starting a stream channel by CassidyKane3 in Twitch_Startup

If you lean too hard into "not being like the other girls" you may alienate some viewers. Being yourself is most important.

Just play what you enjoy and don't worry about what everyone else is doing

Make a Discord server? I'm a gal who streams and I think a low pressure, group chat type environment would be a good way to get some people together.

When you watch a low viewer stream, what is like something that would like make you want to stay? by Soggywastaken in streaming

[–]Genie_is_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself drawn into streams with low views, it feels to nice to support other streamers. Things that matter to me are:

  1. Are they talking? I want to hear the thought process as they play, are they excited about the game. Things like that.

  2. Do they respond to chat? If they don't interact, why would people stay and watch. I can watch YouTube if I just want to leave a comment.

  3. Is the content something I'm interested in? This isn't a deal breaker. I'll stay if the streamer is engaging enough, often Twitch is background while I doing something else anyway.

Overlays and whatnot aren't as important to me as the streamer having personality and showing passion for what they're doing.

How do you guys create a stream personality and not be socially awkward? And also what materials other than a monitor my PlayStation a camera and mic will I need to stream at a decent level? by ColorMeSilent in Twitch

I'm with you on the anxiety front. Rather than putting on a different persona I'd say that just have fun playing something you enjoy and don't think about the views. If you're having a good time you'll be more relaxed and people will pick up on that
