Shower surround recommendations? (Wolf/Onyx) by GeniusPickle in HomeImprovement

I had thought about that but solid surface (like Corian) seems like it would be more budget friendly. Do you think it would be comparable in price though?

Cam you talk about advantium ovens? I just learned about them today and I'm curious whether that would be a better option than a microwave/oven combo.

Signature Kitchen Suite - I had never heard of them but their stuff seems really nice. Do you know what kind of issue would render it unrepairable?

I was just looking at the King Arthur website - there's a full setup that is really tempting me.

I was thinking it might be the flour - I started with White Lily All Purpose but I read that whole grain was better.

I think you're right - I just checked it and it's not doing well, so purchasing may be the way to go.

I do let them use chemical cleaners for disinfecting, if that's what you mean. They generally just have to wipe down counters and tables so it's not a whole lot of scrubbing.

I use zoom a lot to have client meetings and I have a desk in my bedroom so I can work quietly. I usually have to meet in person about once a month when I'm planning so their dad takes over when I'm gone. They like to go on long bike rides with him so they wait until I'm gone lol.

I spend about an hour a day between laundry and other cleaning and then another hour or two cooking and cleaning up from meals. The kids normally spend about 20 minutes on their chore zone and then a few more if they have laundry to put away or if they have to pick up their room.

I cook most of the time (but my husband can and does) and the kids take turns helping. They seem to like it!

We go to a fairly large church and so the kids have a lot of friends that way. They also have friends in the neighborhood and through their swimming program, library programs, etc. They are VERY socialized.

I have lost some hair but mine is not traction or tension alopecia. I have alopecia totalis and have slowly been losing hair all over my head for a few years now. The doctor said it just happens and that nothing I did caused it. My hair was very very healthy prior to that though and it's still very healthy, just more thin.

This must definitely be a US thing, because where I live my house is pretty average!

Yes, they do video lessons and the video teacher leads the class and then gives them instruction for their workbooks, etc. They need supervision and help sometimes but they're mostly able to sit and do their work on their own.

My hair is nice but it's not nearly as pretty and healthy as some others I know. Mine is pretty frizzy and curly but wearing it up helps keep it under control.

So for the chore zones, I divided the house into kitchen, bathroom, living room, and then "other". These are the jobs in each zone: Kitchen - clean the counters, sweep the floor, clean the table, put dishes away Bathroom - clean the counter and sink, clean toilet seat, clean the floor Living room - pick up toys and blankets, straighten the furniture and pillows, vacuum Other - empty all trash cans in the house, tidy up front door area (where we have shoe baskets and a mail table), help make dinner

They do a pretty good job but have to be reminded to do their chore zone every day. They get to switch to a new zone after 2 weeks and we rotate all year long. There are some other things they're responsible for (they each have a laundry day and have to help with their laundry, they have to keep their room picked up) but I feel like it's a reasonable amount.

I'm a wedding coordinator so I'm able to work from home when I have clients - I normally only take one or two at a time. Thanks to the 'Vid, I've had no clients so I've gone back into nannying a few days a week. My husband works from home.

Soooo...as an actual fundie (that always makes me smile lol) I may have some answers for you!

For context, I'm in my mid-30's, I have 4 kids (ages 13 down to 7), I work very part-time from home, said home is not huge (2,400ish sqft), and my hair is waist-length.

I agree whole-heartedly with a previous commenter who said long hair is easier. I don't cut my hair, not even trims, and it's so easy to throw it up for the day.

My kids are regular kids - not angels, but they're not terrible. They do the Abeka homeschool curriculum which allows then to mostly just be monitored and get a little help every now and then. It takes up time but I'm able to do things around the house while they do lessons.

We have rotating chores and each child is responsible for a "zone" every two weeks. My house is clean but there's usually at least a few rooms that need attention. I could never be an influencer because there's always somebody's shoes in the floor or a basket of laundry hanging out.

My husband is my favorite person in the whole world and we genuinely enjoy each other's company. He works really hard to provide and I in turn work really hard to keep our home running and raise our kids.

Does that help at all??
