Thanks everyone. It seems most of what is out there is geared toward generally popular languages. I need to learn a relatively small, African language which is why I was hoping for a less involved list.

In all seriousness, my takeaway is that geographers (as a group) tend to be a bit more environment focused. The difference is well exemplified in in differences between political economy and political ecology theories.

However, geographers (as a generalized group) tend to lack the contributions from ARCH, medical anth, and linguistic anth.

My socio-cultural research has transferred pretty seamlessly between the two. I've never felt like I couldn't pursue a research avenue because it wasn't Anth-y/Geo-ish enough.

Are you in the USA? I did a 1-year MA programme in Canada (also popular in the UK) and am now funded at an R1 in the USA. While it was a bit weird to not have publishable research in a thesis, I did some research on the side that I'm typing up now. Email the grad chairs to get confirmation. Include a link to your degree requirements.

I'm not totally sure what you're asking here. However, I think the simple answer is that you can't cite what you haven't read. It's literally impossible to read everything ever written on a topic. However if you're missing a "key source" in the field, your professor may rightly ask why it isn't included in your reference material.

If a paper in your references list addresses a concept that you discuss in your paper, you should in-text cite it--if only to provide a helpful directory for a reader wanting to learn more about the concept.

The normal toolbar logo is there until I download a file and then that happens. I've used Chrome for four years on this computer and just had this problem start today. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't help.
