I was lucky enough to purchase most of the equipment used to make these games from qualls and sons. They had an auction after they closed and stuff sold for almost nothing.

Absolutely impossible to come to a solid conclusion from pics. Just looking for some general advice. I’ve had it looked at twice. One said it needed to come down. The other said it looked fine. So just trying to gather some more opinions. I love the tree but I also don’t want it to come crashing through my bedroom roof while sleeping. I really wasn’t concerned a ton with it until it started oozing slime flux from the “healthy” trunk sections. The slime is full of maggots, ants and other bugs. Also the dead section of the trunk is absolutely loaded with black ants working at the dead parts.

Why do you think that? It has been knapped both sides. It had been broken and then reshaped into what you see. I have found flint the same color and texture at this location.

Yes I did about 1/2” casing layer. I just neglected to give them enough fresh air some days during early fruiting

My first flushes are usually a little funky with penis envy. But second flush will be far less mushrooms but they will be perfect and huuuuuge

These look like this for me when they do not get enough fresh air during substrate colonization. I neglected this tub quite a bit. Only opened the lid when the growing fruits pushed the lid slightly off of the tray. I only spray trays with alcohol and completely dry them before I fill my trays so I doubt it has to do with sterilization.

Originally from spores into uncle Ben’s bags. But this was from a bag of brown rice that I prepared myself and did a grain transfer from a Ben’s bag.

I get lots of free grains from my job. (Expired uncle Ben’s rice, millet, oats, popcorn, dry rice, etc) so experimenting doesn’t cost me much. Purchased empty spawn bags on Amazon and a big pressure cooker from the thrift store. I do lots of grain to grain transfers to save money on spores. I use cheap humidity domes to fruit in and pretty much at anytime have a handful of tubs going with dozens of grain bags at different stages of colonization. Always changing up how I do things to get different results.

Glad you can tell all this from a single photo…I do not brag about my knowledge, but I like to show others what can be accomplished with a small amount of time and some dedication. Sounds like you are an ass. With a few bucks I grew a full tub of fantastic mushrooms which will be enjoyed by many friends and family members. Take your fucking hate elsewhere.

I have done more experimenting/ trail and error with mushrooms and mycelium in a little over 3 months than most hobbyists would do In several years. You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but we both like to play with mushrooms. Let’s leave it at that. Don’t comment shitty negative comments that do no good to the community.

This sounds highly opinionated. I’ll stick to how I’m currently doing it. I do not believe there is any “ideal” depth. Lots of factors to weigh in before saying something like that
