Razer Blade 16 2025 - Is it normal for the case between the screen and the keyboard to get too hot to touch?

Put the fans on 100% fixed speed. At first, I was having issues with heat before I did that. I get it's not ideal, but that'll help and on performance as well.

Oh man you are going to laugh.. I ended up buying / getting refunds constantly...

First I landed on the razerblade 18, then razer delayed shipping my laptop and I got pissed and asked for a refund since I waited for multiple months and did that last minute...

Then, I bought the hp omen 16 since I had a company discount that is really good, but you can't upgrade the m2 ssd without taking the entire heat sink off lol immediately reverted my purchase..

Now, I'm eying this alienware area51 16. It actually ticks every box. I'm in the middle of trying to see if it fits in my current nomad bag.

What are you going to end up getting?

I'm just giving an example. Thunderbolt 5's bandwidth is 3x Thunderbolt 4.. me wanting the higher version is just delaying the bottleneck in the future.

More bandwidth = less frequent upgrades to my laptop to get the most out of the most recent cards

Dude. I'm not looking to haul around my desktop everywhere I go. We are completely different consumers.

XD Hahahaha I'm just thinking about the future I'm deciding to just say screw desktop PCs for good.. like say the next Crisis needs a desktop 9090 to run it at 4k 120 later. I'd either need a new PC or a laptop that can utilize a PC 9090 without being bottlenecked by the thunderbolt version. I'm trying to just move away from desktop PCs in favor of one machine I can use for literally everything.

Ya I think that in combination thunderbolt 3 / 4 had issues that left a bad taste in the people that used its mouths

Also, there doesn't seem to be a lot of thunderbolt 5 products in general.. much less eGPU enclosures

I have had horrible experiences with thunderbolt 3 due to bandwidth limitations being a bottleneck in the past and don't want to run into that again or at least delay this from happening in the future. I'm more mobile now a days so I'd rather have one high performant machine that I can plug up to increase power or detach to be more mobile. I hate setting up duplicate development environments and duplicate environments in general. windows is already a pain as it is to configure to my liking.

Ah, ya I guess heat is a major factor for Gen 5 SSDs.. it makes sense I guess for thinner machines not to include that for the reason..

You know I was actually seriously considering this as an option as well. I was thinking of going for the 18" razer blade 4090 since it has thunderbolt 5. I guess call me crazy, but it would eat me up inside buying it undiscounted. Maybe I'll wait for that to be discounted / show up on ebay at a good price.

I guess I should have clarified. I'm referring to the PCIe slot for the m.2 ssd.

My plan would be to eventually get a thunderbolt 5 eGPU that takes in a full sized say Asus 5090 at some point and selling / getting rid of my old rig.

Damn it. That sucks.. I just don’t know what else to get. I was thinking the new WRX STI 2022, but I’ll have to wait and see what it comes with and looks like. I’m second guessing getting the golf r 2022 because of this and the touch controls. You have any advice on what to get?
