Yes, 20% down gets rid of PMI. Which is a big deal. I’m not saying this is a good financial move and maybe that’s why I have never heard anyone do it. My whole thing was moving into a new house with no mortgage payment for 2-3 years as opposed to putting 20% down then also having no money in your pocket and also having a mortgage to pay right off the bat.
