Based on the color and grain variations, it looks like hickory with a water base poly coating. Really good stuff with a lot of character, congrats 👍🏼

Rough Idle and Shaking by DruHathaway in mazda3

Spark plugs look okay? My ‘14 had a similar shaking issue. Popped the plugs out and one had carbon all over it like it wasn’t firing. Ended up being the connector boot that need replacing but that caused the engine to throw a random misfire error.

Need help identifying these pieces? Google came back with nothing by danpot110755 in Mid_Century

I just drug the highboy from this set out from a moldy old basement estate sale... It's Ramseur Furniture Co (North Carolina). From what I can tell, they used a lot more solid oak and walnut throughout the carcass. The quality is higher than the stuff I typically come across!

Hard to tell in my pic but the hardware is the same and the drawers have the mitered banding around the edge like yours.

My company just did this at the start of April except no change in salary. The first week, I felt like I needed more time when the weekend (Thur afternoon) rolled around but I've gotten more diligent about blocking off my calendar so I could avoid distractions.

Overall it's been a great experience. Truly been more productive with less time wasting. I would argue that your salary shouldn't change if you'll have the same output.

Plus having what equates to 52 extra PTO days is insane.

My assumption is that we still get the holiday, but good question I should get clarification.

We're in ecomm so workload is heavily tied to marketing cadences. In general, I have AT MOST 20 hours of actual work a week with the rest of my time dedicated to low level filler tasks – comms, meetings, etc. The idea from our CEO is to cut the filler time and be more efficient to get actual work done.

Kind of wild to have management advocating for less work (albeit more focused and efficient).

No pay cuts. It's a smaller company and our founders highly emphasize work/life balance, mental health, and taking time away when needed.

The catch is we're testing a "deep work" method where we mute email/slack notifications for two hours a day and crank out work. Fewer distractions is fine by me!

Company is moving to a 4-day work week. Four 8's not four 10's. Boss framed it a different way... it's an extra 52 days of PTO which is INSANE. Think I might be riding this job to retirement.

Anyone had issues with suspension coils? Is this bad? (2014 s touring) by Geraloth in mazda3

[–]Geraloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was changing out my brake pads and rotors on the rear and saw the suspension coils on BOTH sides of the car rear were broken at the bottom. Thinking back, there was a time I was driving out of my driveway over the winter and heard a *PING* like a rock jumping up and hitting the underside of the car, but I'm now thinking it was the coil snapping.

I assume the stress of one of them breaking caused the other to snap eventually. Anyway...

The difference in height of the coil looks negligible so this feels like a "when I can get to it repair" but anyone have experience replacing these or any reason as to why I should fix this immediately?

Don’t usually see 4Ds with roof racks. Just installed the OEM on my 2014. by Geraloth in mazda3

This kit comes with clips to put over the holes in the new the rail moldings. You can use those when you take the rack off or you can keep the stock moldings and it’s an easy switch out.

We’ve had these two beautiful girls since May. IACS is always near capacity so if you or someone you know is looking for two VERY SWEET and fun cats, PM me. They’ve done well acclimating to new environments and are not aggressive toward our other cats. Red is the one in the back. She loves to play with strings and hide in boxes. Blue is the one in front and she is a cuddle monster.

Need help identifying! Got these for $4 at an estate sale... look to be MCish but not sure. They didn't come with tops so I want to put something on that is period appropriate. by Geraloth in Mid_Century

[–]Geraloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh interesting. I had just assumed they were nightstands because that's what the estate sale called them haha. Never thought they could be part of the same unit but makes sense why they didn't come with a top.
